Prince concerts: a lot like sex. But not sex.

So the last time I saw Prince live (a fews ago, here in Perugia) I became aware of how the show seemed, in many ways like, like being with an extremely talented lover. Do y'all here know what I am talking about?

This is why I feel that these experiences are similar:

1) There is a feeling of reciprocal pleasure. He performs, we get off in the pleasure of the music, he gets off on watching us get off on the music, and bring the music to an even more intense level, and we get off even further with his playing, and back and forth, until he and the audience are in a completely ecstatic state of pure pleasure.

2) After a show, I feel breathless, bliss, a total natural high. And if you looked into my eyes you could see forever (as I realized during my "post-show" social interactions). I think this is a result of the music really moving on a really deep level.

I'm not trying to be dirty here, the opposite in fact. Kinda the emotional/spiritual feelings of sex, and the opennes of sex, but not like, sexual per se. But do you all feel this too? Does the live music--especially his guitar playing-- take you someplace deep and true?

I totally feel you on that one.

I feel that too. Those 2 nights in Montreal were the best nights of my life (sorry guys) and when he played that bass solo for something around 10 minutes... it was better than anything physical I've never experienced (sorry again guys!). It does take you someplace else

The high is totally there too, and I really got big part of my pleasure seeing him enjoying doing the shows as much as I enjoyed seeing them.

nod

Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''
If you can't be nice to someone on the net, you probably ain't worth much talking to in real life either.

If this was all an actual, face-to-face conversation, this is the part where everybody else in the room sits there and fidgets and there's a long awkward pause.

Too funny.

I am a woman. I think if I had this conversation with a guy, he would sh*t his pants, and not get it. For other women, I think her reaction would depend upon her experience of sex, and of Prince!

Just 2 things that get you naturally supranaturally high.

And he is just really in touch with how we respond to his music, and it produces this infinitiely good cycle. Which, well, is like sex, especially if you are a woman, but I will avoid elaboration here.

But yes, I probably would not bring up this subject at a party or at a dinnertime conversation. I might get an odd look or two eek . Agreed.

It's like an "otherworldly high" for me at the concerts. Songs like EndorphinMachine, Can't stop this feeling I got, LoveSexy- "The feeling you get when you fall in love, not with a girl or boy but the heavens above" I think touch on this.

It's funny, I remember hearing fans screaming during one of the W2A concerts and Prince saying, "You ain't pregnant yet?".
