Nobody mentions MLPS?! That song is a total jam. I also enjoy Love Sign, Standing At The Altar and Color. Even Mayte's song is nice. And what a lucky b**** for having Patti LaBelle, Rosie Gaines, and Margie Cox singing BACKUP on your first major single.

MPLS is the Jam!!! It knocked me on my ass when I first heard it back in '94. When I first heard about the fight song for the Minnesota Vikings I thought it was going to be something like MPLS, something to strike fear in the other team and pump up the crowd when the Vikings stormed onto the field (like a young Mike Tyson entering the ring to Public Enemy's "Welcome to the Terrordome"). Instead, he went the traditional route with "Purple and Gold."

"Love Sign" is a fat, pumpin' jam, too! And I gotta agree that Mayte's "If I Love U 2nite" is pretty nice. I always thought that "A Woman's Gotta Have It" is a catchy little R&B track. It's a pity that there's obvious hit material here that was shamefully overlooked.

Was it ever discovered who "Cutie Pie, on vocals" was?
