Nearly 20 years later I finally 'get' this song so thought Id share my new found love for it. The harmonies , the feel and the quality has made this one of the standouts on the album.

I recently had the same revelation. It's amazing how a song I was pleased to skip over, turned into one of my most played songs. The song is beautiful and pleasantly patient cool I adore it

Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! biggrin In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!!

Very good and very well crafted song. I liked it on very first listen until he unnecessarily added an awful second part (the booty-boom part).

How can one have the guts to destroy such a gem with such a part is beyond me...

My favourite version is the edit made for an unreleased single in 93, has an added short break and most of all lacks the cringeworthy Mayte part (though unfortunately keeps that booty-boom crap).

Had he just left the good part and extended it a bit, this would easily rank about his best efforts ever.

agreed.

I edited out all the rap shite and spliced the ending on (as it goes back into the groove) and it makes a very catchy, radio-friendly little single. Why this & And God Created Woman weren't released as singles is beyond me. They'd have done so well, I reckon.

Hearing him play it during a soundcheck in 2003 was a highlight - no rap, all funk.

Speaking of the O(> album, and mentioning Carmen... Alongside Love 2 the 9s, The Continental is a wonderful tune too... and I quite enjoy I Wanna Melt With U (the S'Express influenceat play). A very enjoyable album.
