I Would Die 4 U and One Song

I was alone in my college dorm, having all kinds of problems; life, school, financial.Nothing was going right for me, I didnt have tons of friends like i thought i would, no computer, car, could hardly afford books and dorm rent. The only thing I had was a Prince CD and a stero. I Would Die 4 U came on and I just broke down, it's like the song just started talking to me.

"Hey you! you're just a sinner I am told. I'll be your fire when you're cold. Make you happy when you're sad. Make you good when you are bad......all i really need is to know that you believe"

"I believe"pray

One song is just the TRUTH, the speech b4 the song really captured me and explained everything I felt about the world and God.

I'll shock you with my lips.

Lots of them but the first one was International Lover. That song got me hooked on Prince when my bf gave me the 1999 album as a gift. He was trying to make up with me and make up we did! biggrin

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

-I pray for 'I would die for you' to come on the radio!

-I say, 'God, I have been good, help a sister out. Thank you, amen'.

Last December

Did U ever find a reason
Why U had 2 die?
Or did U just plan on leaving
Without wondering why?...

I'm only responsible for what I say, not for what you understand

There are a few.

Around the World in a Day - the album. Brings me immediately back to summer of 85, listening to the radio in the sun with a couple of buddies, and the radio stations previewing the songs before the album came out. I loved everything I heard and went down to the wrecka stow soon after and bought the cassette. That album, along with Purple Rain, Shelia's 1600, the Family, and Mazarati ruled my world for awhile. I was 15 at the time and had some growing pains during that year and this music really helped me get through it.

The Cross - helped me understand we all have burdens to conquer, but don't ever give up. Again, it helped me during those turbulent teen years.

Walk Don't Walk - Finally starting to be comfortable in my own skin and not letting people tell me how to be. This song really SPOKE to me.

Gold was and is inspiring.

In This Bed I Scream came out at a time when I was trying to repair some broken friendships. I kept thinking Prince was following me around with a tape recorder or something...it was way too close to what was happening in my life at that moment.

Good Love and Mountains, to this day, if I am down in the dumps for whatever reason, both of these make me feel better. They put immediately make me tap my foot and put a smile on my face.
