No, I'm talking about the City Lights boot. Never cared for the song before I heard this version(which I could say for many of his songs that won my favor live) and Dez was showing out something fierce eek

Right, because this gig is available on dvd too, and is great quality considering it's age.

Great track live though I have to agree.

Coincidentally I saw a few bits from the Summit show from 82 and the quality was superb as well, I might track down both.

It's interesting that The Summit is Lakewood Church now.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Should mention that's the place Joel Osteen preaches out of...

It's funny that this is mentioned because I've been listening to all of the Controversy shows, including this one, for the past 2 weeks, and I LOVE hearing Jack U Off live!! And add Dirty Mind, Head, and Do Me Baby to the list from those shows, and you've got a man/band that just could NOT be stopped!!

Jack U off live on this tour is utterly wild

Controversy shows are in a word.....BADASS..

the Houston DVD is one of my most played DVD's. Washington isn't bad either.

Getting Private Joy on the Houston show is a gem as well

The summit show is good in that it has been shot on (at least) 3 different cameras, which provide some tasty angles and great close up shots.

There's at least at three P-Funk shows from the 80s shot there as well.

falloff @ him singing this song in front of that Rolling Stones crowd though. Prince truly didn't give an entire fuck.

So did I! And the "Purple Rain" shows too - 3 out of the 6, any way.

Joel Osteen's house band rocks that building almost as fiercely as Prince did.

I am not kidding, the band at Lakewood Church will blow your socks off.
