you'd think they would an aftershow meal table set up somewhere elite in Paisley Park... like they do at Prince's concerts on on the road.
He's going to have the private chef, or catering sitting around with meals for an undetermined amount of hungry musicians who might get hungry at an undetermined time, depending on when the show might end?
That's not how it works. For all you know, there was a craft service table full of food the horn section was tired of, and they just wanted to get out of Prince's bubble and shop for junk food in a real store, to fill a craving. Maybe the man loves those sandwiches and fantasizes about how the next time he gets back into town, he can't wait to play a show so he can get one of those damn sandwiches? Who knows. All this sounds like is fans kind of taken aback to see someone they just saw on stage, doing real people things so quickly after. |

Sure, there's kitchen, a break room, and there is a chef and catering. Rehearsals were going on all afternoon. And the plan is to finish in the wee hours, it's not unexpected. Food could easily be wrapped up and left, just like they were at the store 12 hours earlier.
Oh yeah, and we were kind of joking amongst ourselves that night, just like I was with this story here. I don't really believe Maceo Parker was suffering some great hardship based on penny pinching. And believe me, some in our group had been around a lot of famous people under real circumstances.
But... then again... some of the office style ceiling tile at Paisley Park was water stained and needed replacing.

Couldn't resist. Sorry.
My guess is that Prince pays them pretty well or else they'd be making a lot more money playing with other artists. Especially with a resume that has his name on it.
By the way, I'd love to see a copy of Maceo's resume: James Brown, George Clinton, and Prince.
"Um, yeah... yer hired."
fuck money..... they play 4 love of the music..
Too true. And they must get a piece of the tour money. Esp with the cash he pulls in from a concert. "Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion" -- Martha Graham |

From what Prince probably eats, I'd be in a store getting some bacon sandwiches and cracklin's too. Prince may have been serving juices, crumpetts, twigs and berries. Who want's to eat that all the time. |

Raw bark isn't everyone's cup of tea, that's for sure. Some people just want a saran wrapped ham and cheese sandwich....and no caterer is gonna saran wrap a sandwich for you. Sometimes you just crave that plastic wrapped bread, you know? |
