Well since he probably won't be seeing the Prez, perhaps he'll drop by Fox for a chat with O'reilly.
I would love for him to finally be interviewed by someone who would actually be tough enough to challenge him straightforwardly when he says something absurd, but I'm not trying to see him get verbally annihilated, lol. Oh, I haven't been over there but I can just imagine what they're saying over there.
I mean, hell, they're Fox fans. Just look at the accusations they make about a professional looking black man like Obama who wears a suit and tie. I can just imagine the comments they're probably making about Prince, a funk rocker who looks and dresses gay as hell. Andy is a four letter word. |

They are goin' all in on ol' boy! LMAO!!!! And I'm laughin' my ass off because of it. Some of them, of course, are the typical stupid "he's gay" or "he should be called Queen" comments or whatever, but a lot of them definitely call him on this bullshit!

I would have guessed the same thing, and have no interest in reading those responses. Not so much out of an allegiance for Prince, but because it seems to me that just about anywhere on the Internet where large numbers of people have the opportunity to respond to a story, seems to be overwhelmed by negativity for the sake of negativity.
Just as an example, I love to visit IMDB (the Internet Movie Data Base) whenever I watch a movie and want to get more information. Without fail, regardless of the movie, you can count on any number of "critics" to write in with how AWFUL that movie was for them. And it doesn't even matter which movie - ALL of them have their fill of "This was the worst movie of all time!" comments attached, lol. It's as if certain people just feel a need to carry the banner of negativity.
So no, I have no need to go see what Fox viewers have to say about Prince. "There's Nothing That The Proper Attitude Won't Render Funkable!"

You're a complete tool. Championing LESS rights as a black woman is probably the dumbest thing I've ever read on this ridiculous site. You are an embarrassment to your gender and your ethnicity.
Actually, a prohibition on the wearing of a piece of religious garment (as occured in France) IS less rights, not more. If the west is really concerned with gender equality then it can do so by doing so in the workplace by paying them equally for the same work (which still doesnt happen in the US or France) or by giving them the same opportunities for promotion as men (which still doesn't happen in France). The controversy around the burqa in Europe IMO is largely just a legacy of the old world fearing they're being taken over by immigrants.

You're right that sexism exists in Western countries. But Prince was talking about political/religious dictatorships in the Middle East. The journalist inquired again with a follow up question, but old Prince insisted. He said there's a "dark side" to everything. He messed up fiercely, let's just admit it. I didn't see a press release yet, however concise, which said he was misquoted or didn't mean what he actually said. Unless you consider the hasty, vague and evasive stuff of the Doctor a "press release". [Edited 6/28/11 8:40am] |

Yeah, I agree he "messed up", but from a PR perspective. The statement about there being a "dark side to everything" isn't in the french interview, but even assuming that it was, its a true statement. If he errs IMO its in speaking about something the public doesn't wish to hear. He should save that type of speaking for when he's with West & Smiley, not for these mass news rags. I don't share his conservativism, but hey thats him. To each their own, I dont listen to him for his personal life, I listen to him because I like good music. Change it one more time.. |

Fox News is, in a word, evil. They do not waste an opportunity to create fear, be it of Muslims, Gays, Blacks, union workers, etc.
The way they obviously and amateurishly darkened up that picture can mean only one thing in the Fox News world...they want white people to fear the black. In whatever capacity.
I still think Prince really stuck his foot in his mouth with regard to Muslim women, regardless of which interview you read, but for Fox to make race part of the issue to instill fear in their readers is vile.

I think that criticism is spot on. Case in point; the gov't and certain corporations have been found to literally hire people to invade comment threads and inject their POV into the mix. There was a story not long ago about a security firm that was busted doing just this by Anon, and they had quite a rolodex of clients. Of course, there are worthy things on the internet, but people are finding effective ways of usurping very popular websites, as they find that peopel reading comment sections are really swayed by whatever prevailing POV they read. |

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews. |
