I don't see how the rest of the quote disproves my point. The person in the second comment said that Prince made him "sick" when he "first came out" and his opinion of Prince hasn't changed. That's the difference between the commenters on Fox News and the people who post here. We at least liked the old Prince. They hate Prince, period, old or new.

I knew there was a reason i clicked back on this site.

why is it that we go to the extreme negative on what people mean when verbalizing their thoughts/views? Why are we always immediantly on the offense escpecially when it comes to politics, religion, sexuality? Why cant we just listen to each other? I despise injustice in any form and will be the first to stand up and fight against it. Do i feel that in Prince stating what he did regarding the muslim religion/culture and having a respect for the woman of muslim faith and theyre Hijab means hes "out of touch" with reality? No because i understand what he was saying and not saying. Its pretty clear if you choose to listen.

Not every woman who is of the muslim faith and wears Hijab (concealment ) is oppressed, infact dare i say its the opposite. If u do a little research about the faith u will undersrtand why a lot of the woman do and wear what they do "Theres a dark side to everything" YES. I have been to places in Africa like Morocco and Tunisia and have bore witness to the horrible oppression and injustice placed upon the woman. You walk down some of the streets and u can feel the oppression and bondage, It is a horror and no joke! BUT i have also seen a beautiful side - A People with such devotion and believe in theyre faith. Theres oppression in any religion all over the world. It takes on many forms. I experienced a form of it growing up in a southern baptist church.

Oppression can be in anything everywhere. Especially in the days we live in .............

although there is nothing new under the sun.

That's great that you can understand Bob Marley. I've been listening to all his albums and trying to understand what he's saying. I know there are some deep messages there but it's hard to make out the words. Prince, on the other hand, comes across crystal clear to me but has nothing much to say these days.

I think he was clearly being sarcastic, and Fox just ran with it. Sarcasm often misses it mark when it's read as written word. Before I judge him on this excerpt, I would need to hear and SEE what he was saying immediately before and after this isolated comment. Fox has a habit of picking parts of a persons statement out of it's context when they want something to sound particularly ugly.

Er, no he was not being sarcastic. Prince has supported concepts and ideas which subjugate women for the past 15 years. This is not beyond his own beliefs. He sympathizes with that.
