Create your outtake album!

Imagine the best Prince outtake album you can think of and post it here. Think about tracklisting, length (should be between 1 and 2 hours, certainly no Crystal Ball 2 set) and song order. Imagine all songs are in perfect quality, of course.

Mine would be:

Extra Loveable

Tick, Tick, Bang (1980)

Do Yourself A Favor

Love...Thy Will Be Done

Feel U Up (1981)

Purple Music

Possessed (1983)

Electric Intercourse

Heaven

I Wonder

Open Book

All Day, All Night

Wonderful Ass

Baby Go-Go

Empty Room (1994)

In A Large Room With No Light (1986)

Roadhouse Garden

Moonbeam Levels

All My Dreams

The Grand Progression

Been chasing bootlegs since '99 (excluding The Black Album which i bought 3 times in the 80's) and Extra Lovable, Old Friends For Sale and Witness are the only singles that I truly wished were released. I know that Old Friends for Sale was on The Vault, but that version really pisses you off. It doesn't make any sense.

In regards to Prince I'm a fan, In regards to music I'm a fanatic!!

I'd want stuff I haven't heard on there too, so won't do a tracklist.

I would like to see chronological releases - not just slapdash odds-n-sods. And with informative liner notes and recording information. I know Prince still thinks it's cute to be flowery and vague - but those recent-ish interviews where he was much more forthright and lucid would be a much better tone for liner notes, the CB booklet is criminal in it's brevity and silly teenage language - the opening two tracks alone deserve more text than the whole booklet included.

A 2 or 3 CD volume covering a particular period or project(s), with appropriate artwork from the era (unreleased photos, or out-take shots from famous shoots/looks etc). I'm a do it right it or don't do it at all kind of person. smile

Great selection, would want A Better Place To Die in there somewhere, and maybe Moviestar as it's funny. And We Can Funk.

Wrong title, given by the original bootlegger of this track. That song's real title is the one that bolded up above.

I with U on that.

Make some money off it, hire someone really good and do cd/dvd booklets with photos and credits and what not from each time

I think if I had 2 by them 1 by 1 I'd get a Parade era booklet 1st and then buy backwards

And then go ahead a release the Dream Factory with the Revolution, even put the songs that went on SOTT but an different version

My List in no Particular order:

Moonbeam Levels

Hard To Get [Prince Version]

G-Spot [Prince Version]

Teacher, Teacher

Desire [Prince Version]

Turn It Up

If I Had A Harem [Studio Version]

Everybody Wants What They Don't Got

Adonis & Bathsheba

Heaven

Strange Way Of Saying I Love U

Crucial [Long Version]

....Now That i think about it, This is kinda hard to put together. I'm not sure what playlist would truly sound cohesive [I know mine wouldn't, no matter how I try to put them together. I think it would have to be all about the era songs were recorded in....]

That's a great "Beatle-esque" melody there. I'd love to have this in pro quality.

Definitely! I tried to choose songs that are either in sound quality I wish was better, or snippets of songs I want to hear more of...
