hmmm, lets see - LF was [IMHO] a great CD with some great trax that would have been good on Radio [Wall of Berlin, Dreamer etc] but what does he go for instead? the easy safe option. This track isn't bad and works well in the contect of the CD BUT in the context of grabbing a listeners attention and putting butts on seats in a big stadium...you gotta be shittin' me!!. Seriously he needs to get a grip and his so called band members / associates need to earn their corn and give him some damn advice. P is so out of touch, so in love with his so called genius that it has clouded his judegment even further into the mire of self adulation. He is either beyond arrogant or a commercial dumbass- I suspect its a combination of the 2. Why the fuck couldn't he just release a NEW track, filled with energy and originality....oh wait a minute he's 53 and is riding his luck based on an old reputation. Yet another example of poor judgement / commercial suicide.

By choosing a song from LotusFlow3r it makes 20ten look really bad, I think this was a mistake on his part, it would have been better for him to release something off 20ten or better yet something new, or never heard, the song is like 2yrs old. The intrest is a little low @ this point. But glad France will get some Prince on the radio "How Can I Stand To..Stay Where I Am? Poor Butterfly Who..Dont Understand." P

as I said above, LF is on sale in France. 20TEN is not. so it does make a certain amount of sense for him to release something from the most recent album that people can actually BUY.

My apology, but I beleive earlier somewhere in the post, it was mentioned 20ten was sold threw a newspaper in France, I think it was an english translation of the french article, possible mistake, whatever a new song would have been better, but all in all this is good news "How Can I Stand To..Stay Where I Am? Poor Butterfly Who..Dont Understand." P

it's a good song so why not. he's got 4ever to figure out if he made the right choice. "It's time for you to go to the wire."

it was sold in a newspaper (or magazine?) in France. but that was a year ago. it's no longer on sale. LF still is.

4Ever? a bad choice for a single.
I would love to see a pic of the cover art thou...... Prince 4Ever. ![]()

OK, y'all are some jaded m.f.'s on this site. "4ever" is easily the most radio-friendly track he's produced in the last 2 years. And considering a ballad was his last international hit ("The Most Beautiful Girl in the World"), I'd say he's making a pretty good choice.
It's not like casual fans know the song is 2 years old. And whether you think "Dreamer" or "Future Soul Song" is a better song that "4ever," you couldn't possibly think either would be a better single.

I'm looking for an appropriate gif that encompasses a double take, a wtf, a head shake and shrug all in one.

Strange choice, he should have released Sticky Like Glue as a digital single. And a kick ass video to go with it too.

Making sense on the org isn't allowed. I read somewhere its part of the policy.. Change it one more time..

Nice choice of single! I hope he does this in the UK too.
I also would like him to release Lotusflo3r or MPLSound via newspapers as they were truly great albums, knocks socks of 20ten. [Edited 6/19/11 12:40pm]

I don't know.
Most songs released by him lately are songs that any good manager would hide under the rug and pretend never happened in an effort to protect a great iconic brand like Prince.
At this point in his career he can comfortably coast on his 80's works. It is not necessary to release anything new any more. At this point in his career it is more important what NOT to release than what is. Especially when the output is so bad lately.
I love Prince, but his new releases should be capped like the BP oil spill to protect the environment. His live shows are great, he is a legend without peers, their is no need to release stuff like this. Especially to radio where someone might hear it.

well i like his new work, too... Rainbow children..masterpiece.... Lotus Flower ...really great album... But everyone has their opinion;)

Because it was never officially released in Europe and its is 1000x better than 20ten. Its a better showcase of his talent and it helps to erase the memory of 20ten lol [Edited 6/19/11 15:37pm]

I love this song and wouldn't mind hearing it played on the radio in the states, along with a few others from Lotusflow3r.

Ok, but then he has to do a 7 night stand in Minneapolis with surprise gigs at First Avenue and the Turf Club

Such an annoying song.
Only fams could support this decision.
You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
