Good. Dirty Mind is one of his best, if not the best.

It actually took me about 10 years to 'get' it, i'd always put the obvious ones up high but now it's 2 or 3.

Better late than never! But I have to wonder what made you dislike to begin with, I mean this is Dirty Mind here

Subjectively my fav Prince album. Objectively is in my top4

LOVE IT since the very first listen. Magical moment. One of my fav albums of all time. I can't believe it's a 1980 album. It sounds sooooooo TIMELESS...

You're welcome. Surprised you didn't hear about it with all the promotion from Rhino Records and Prince. I haven't heard a Prince release hyped this much since The Vault: Old Friends 4 Sale.

I heard he's been opening all his recent concerts with "Head" in honor of the Dirty Mind reissue.

I had this experience to a much lesser extent -as in it ain't no DM- with The Black Album, I always thought of it as a collection of weak and overwrought jams until a few months back.

Somehow I never realised the greatness of Bowie's Lodger either until around the same time. It's a sublime moment of epiphany when music just jumps clear into your head like that.

No but seriously, I've been like that with a couple of Prince's albums, Parade & Dirty Mind are the main two that come to mind. I didn't get them at the first listen but after playing the LP's on repeat, you really can't get enough of the stuff and you DO get it

when i want to go crazy, i listen Dirty Mind. Great album, but album cover isn't too good.

Love at first listen. I'm listening to cuts from this one all the time. Heavy rotation. Some of my very fave Prince songs are on Dirty Mind.

It's my absolute favorite album in terms of listening completely from beginning to end without skipping anything. Critics often say that Controversy is the perfected version of Dirty Mind, but I prefer Dirty Mind for the simple fact that it isn't polished perfection - it's raw and gritty - just the way I like Prince!! The only time I don't skip through parts of Controversy is when I listen to it back to back with Dirty Mind.

I agree completely. I always listen to Dirty Mind from beginning to end and I find it much superior to Controversy.

It has always been my favorite Prince album.

Right now though, I'm so into COME.
