He's referring to the one after that of his early 90's stuff.

I don't think Prince had anything to do with those 'releases' lol

Ahh, ok... Thought I'd missed something there for a sec. smile

The only contribution Prince had to that being released was that he performed it in the first place. Which, granted is a huge contribution, but if it were up to him, that show wouldn't be circulting now at all, let alone in the fantastic quality it's in. cool

Waiting for Prince to put out new music is never a long wait, the most years he will skip is like what? 2-3yrs? Other artist take like 3-5 yrs to critque/format before releasing new music, and I still prefer Prince over them, and even if P did take like 3-5yrs off, it would only lead me to believe, that his creativity was in overload, and the final product would be good, with different genre songs.

Plus I think 20ten was just released, bcuz P feels a need to release new music, he's sitting on 30+ yrs of music, the man loves making music, so he gave the public a taste, but P had 2 know 20ten was not a 5/5 album or his best work. I dont think it was ever intended to be, just a sample & i say dont expect any 5/5 work from P, whats his ambition 2 do so? Maybe a break would be good, maybe in that time he could compile enough music to make all of us happy, which aint easy, since none of us ever agree

But what you're saying there is that Prince is knowingly releasing sub-par material. Which is exactly what he did during the final WB years to fulfil his contract. The music he's releasing is just the bare minimum effort for a quick cash payout.

And who pays the price for that? The fans. Those who are desparately waiting for him to release something challenging, original and of the standard that we became accustomed.

When he's in the right mindset (ususally frustration or anger) he can still create something interesting. Much of the Rainbow Children, PFUnk, glasscutter, for example. But when it comes to getting the cash, he's happy to throw together another collection of 10 plastic ditties that he made in an hour on Fruityloops.

Okay cool cool i get what ur saying

but in Europe 20ten was sold threw newspaper/magazine, and in the U.S wasnt sold @ all, so you either considered it unavailable are considered it free. In my opinion, every artist's back catalog is greater than there today catalog, after 30+ yrs and hundreds of released and hundreds of unreleased songs, you can only imagine his creativity wandering a bit, not to say its dead though. But again whats his ambition? and when isnt P frustrated? He's frustrated now over the way the music industry is ran, he wont sleep on that, and alot of ppl dont like TRC album, which only back tracks my earlier point, that we never as a whole will be satisfied, we never have been.

What i expect and like from P, could be in contrast to what you expect and like. but the fact that were both on the org debating, shows we still have some what faith in the man musically. & believe he can pull threw, but im sorry just cant sit here and say, he never put a thought in any of the songs on 20ten, when P wants our attention he will surely do everything to string us back in, 20ten wasnt that deal. Rather me or you choose to support him is our own decision, no one forces me to support Prince. I just like the guy, and when he puts out simple unsatisfying music i dont like, i just dont buy it, just like when he starts rambling about things like chemtrails, i just choose to ignore him, he's no different than anyone.

Agreed. And the fact that we've got an overlap of opinion whilst maintaining our individual viewpoints and have been able to have a relaxed, reasoned discussion is an absolute breath of fresh air on here, so thanks cool

you mean that someone hasn't jump in saying you're wrong the org is full of troll freaks and a part of Prince died when Wendy and Lisa left and he hasn't released anything worth listening to since 1987.

- I strongly disagree. Prince´s NPG from 91-95 (Michael B, Sonny, Barb, Hayes) was his funkiest period ever. I am not talking about quality of compositions (some people prefer SOTT/Lovesexy era, others prefer Revolution), but only about the funk.
