I compared it to 3121... he had more creativity in that one than here lol 20Ten is like "the legend resting on his laurels" kind of album. lol Laydown and Beginning Endlessly DID show some creativity.

I just found out that she's gonna play Gwen Stacy in the new Spidey film/reboot. Emma Stone is her name, and damn she's fine...

yeah 20Ten is a little lazy. It sounds like a classic prince album until you start listening closely. 3121 doesn't capture that classic 80's sound as well but it has more inspired music IMO

That is not to say it's bad, but it's not something I am listening to over & over. But it has a nice flow, I enjoy it.

The album that has actually grown on me is Indigo Nights. It's incredible that he basically has a totally different stage show for clubs than he does for big shows.

yeah I saw the huge 21 Nights book for like $5, and the cd included is more than worth carrying an enormous book to the counter, being embarrassed buying it, and lugging it home.

I think most of us felt that way. He definitely sounded uninspired. Hell "Laydown" is more exciting live than the studio version. lol

Why do they say uninspired when they mean "modest/7 out 10 but still good" material neutral

20Ten is still 10000 times better than anything of the 96-00 era...

Not to me. I'll take LotusFlow3r/MPLSound anyday over anything on 20Ten.

That was one of the best songs on there to me. Maybe because it sounds like it was not intended for this project originally. It sounds like somehting that would have been on Lotus.

I would gladly listen to Everybody Loves Me than Walk In Sand, hell i'd rather have Rich Friends than Walk In Sand, if it wasn't segued together with Sea Of Everything i would delete it from my pc.

Although i have added Cause And effect and Rich Friends to my 20Ten playlist, sounds great apart from WIS smile

oh, I've seen it before: the "it's not 80s material, so it can't be classic" syndrome talk to the hand a classic is a classic...new, old, or ancient lol, but a classic nonetheless...

with some veteran artists (Stones, The Boss, Prince, etc) it seems that anything they released after the 80s can't be classic material... confused

There's no 'syndrome' - Yeah, Sticky and Lavaux are pretty good, they don't really go anywhere special either. T'other tracks mentioned are laughable - I still don't understand the praise Beginning Endlessly gets, it's like the cheesy linn intro has spellbound people - the rest of the track sounds it was recorded for NPS, everything about it is like the title track or parts of When U Lovesomebody. Laydown is just, well it's just traumatising isn't *shudder* - I quite liked Walk In The Sand too.

I'm still amazed at how people sleep on '$' - it barely gets a mention and it contains all the elements of classic Prince - it's funny, sexy, funky, spiteful and playful - That's Prince for me not naff Linn samples for 5 minutes with no twists or turns.
