This is the next installment in a series of polls ranking the songs on each album officially released by Prince or O+>. My goal is to determine which tracks should be included in a final poll to determine the overall top 25 Prince songs in the opinion of his fans.
For those of you who haven’t been following my polls, these are different than the usual “best song” threads in that they combine the preferences of all the voters into an overall list.
I am going through these in the same order that they were ranked in my earlier poll of the best Prince albums. Next up is Purple Rain, ranked #2 in that poll.
This shouldn’t take much time to complete. Only nine songs to rank, and you probably know them all by heart. So please vote!

Also, if you haven't yet, please nominate your favorite Prince songs that were not released on Prince's albums or singles here:

This poll particular was an great reminder of how great each and every track is. Almost every track is a number one in my book.

My choices were nearly opposite of the current results. I can't believe people really go for those songs first. Zzzzz.

Up to 23 votes now. Thanks to everyone who voted, and for not reporting the preliminary results. I hope I can keep this going longer than the SOTT poll... The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

Voted, not surprised by the number one. "Aren't you even curious? Don't you want to see the dragon behind the door?"

Same here. Inverse vote. 99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Here are the final results:
There was a lot of turnover between the top three songs: for a few hours "The Beautiful Ones" ranked #1. The last two songs, however, were at the bottom pretty much throughout the poll.
Feel free to discuss the results if you are so inclined, since the poll is now closed. I will start the 1999 poll soon. The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.
