I'm a fan of "Under The Cherry Moon". I always found the look & wackiness of it to be fun. But my only problem is, I never saw where Kristin Scott Thomas was "all that" to fall in love with [let alone die for]. She had a pretty snobby attitude & I always thought "Katy" {Emmanuelle Sallet} was more attractive....

Now, I understand what the meaning to the movie was suppose to mean [true love is....blah blah blah]. I could see Prince dying for both Apollonia & Ingrid Chavez far easier than Kristin Scott Thomas though, But I guess she had to be a bit...."plain" for the part. What's your take on this????

I think she was gorgeous in the movie!

Since you know the film is about "true love," than you should know that falling in love with someone doesn't necessarily mean that they are the hottest person on Earth. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Mary was snooty in the beginning of the movie, but Christopher broke her down.

I know someone whom I think is rather plain and slightly overweight, but whose husband thinks she is smokin' hot, crazy about her body, loves to show her off, spend tons of time with her and would definitely die for her. (It's me and my husband).

She was to me, yeah.

The premise of the movie was that Christopher was a gigolo i.e., love in exchange money. His world had nothing to do with true love at the time he met Mary. He went after Mary because of her dowry. However, once he began to know her, he developed feelings for her and fell in love. It had less to do with how "hot" she was and more to do with what was inside of her--her person, and where he was emotionally at that time--gigolos get lonely too.

HELL NO. Thats what bugged me about the movie. I'd much rather hang with "The Lady in the White" she was down for whatever. And more mature and sexy. Mary was just alright in my eyes, definately NOT all THAT.
