^^biggrin I just hated that after trying so hard to be together, Isaac Sharon had him shot. Somehow I think Mrs. Wellington was more heartbroken than Mary that Christopher was eliminated; hopefully she kicked Isaac to the curb. fryingpan

Do you really think "hotness" is the only thing that makes a woman worth loving?

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Absolutely not. If the woman is real smart and independent, then it makes her even more loving. Being cute ain't all that is cracked up to be.

Uh...no, but It does have something to do with whether or not I would pursue a relationship. The physical is what we see first most of the time [if we actually leave our house to meet people, instead of hooking up with strangers online]. I [personally] do have to have a PHYSICAL attraction to someone before I decide to approach them to be more than friends. And of course not every attractive women is good person, but neither are the ugly or okay looking ones. Everybody is made different & has different opinions about what they look for in a person. To me, "Mary Sharon" would have been another "business deal", & all about the $. Judging from some of the other comments written, others agree! smile biggrin cool

...When Isaac gave me that check [through Mrs. Wellington], I would have took it!!!!!! razz

They don't make movies about that. At least, not movies women want to see - which was the whole point of Under the Cherry Moon. shrug

I thought she looked gorgeous in the film and looked forward to seeing her in later years. Unfortunately she hasn't aged well, in my opinion.. Prince found her when she was still gorgeous. He must have had so much fun making that movie, with all those pretty women around! Was there a casting couch, I wonder?

Comments like "she hasn't aged well" is wack. I absolutely love how she's aged. I've never understood why people have to make negative comments on somebodys looks. This is the bad side with being famous. There's always people having an opinion about them on their behaviour, looks, personality etc, and not on their much more relevant skills as performers of different arts.

Who ever said she couldn't act? I personally never said she was ugly, or untalented. I just wouldn't have died for her lol lol

Btw: Hey, I'm not the finest guy on earth [Some people think I'm kinda cute biggrin ], & I don't know about you, but I have seen some funny looking people in my time on earth thus far.... lol

The premise of the movie was that Christopher was a gigolo i.e., love in exchange money. His world had nothing to do with true love at the time he met Mary. He went after Mary because of her dowry. However, once he began to know her, he developed feelings for her and fell in love. It had less to do with how "hot" she was and more to do with what was inside of her--her person, and where he was emotionally at that time--gigolos get lonely too.

True. I also believe she was deliberately cast 2 throw off the viewers and buy into the story, Prince would have done much better selling the premise if he weren't so Prince lol. A few more outfits that included the back and not as many pouty faces would have legitimized the character as a gigolo; not Prince acting like a Gigolo. Kristin Scott worked because she wasn't the classic "Prince chick" whom by 1986 already had a distinct public perception. Women like Apples and Sheila E you would live in a fuckin cardboard box with a big smile on your face-harder to sell.

nod

She's gorgeous - then and now.

Apparently, Prince thinks so, too - because (it is said) she was the inspiration for "Better With Time."

I don't know how he did it! If I would made that film, it would have been called.....

"In The Cherry & Moon"

It would have been a straight up porno movie with the same storyline except:

Tricky would have been played by: Vanessa Del Rio {who would have been my partner in crime & in the bedroom}

....And I would've had Ola Ray in there too...as somebody [I didn't think her part out, But hey, it'll never happen anyway lol ] 3some 3way 69 oral kisses horny ky playboy

....The movie would have ended in one big orgy with me & every women in the film. I really would have done it to "Mary's Mom".....thrice!

[Rated X...X...X] {in one of those Movie announcer voices biggrin }

She wasn't all that, but great for the movie. A very pretty girl actually, but not worth dying for. She was a bit plain jane to me I guess.. nothing special really. But still she played the part great. She wouldn't have been my choice for leading ladies for Prince, but it worked, she pulled off the snob attitude perfectly!

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol
