Woah! chill dude! all i was was saying IMO his work has suffered since the WB split due to quality control. Like the Crystal Ball thing, they said no and he went back trimmed it down and gave them SOTT. Now if wants to release a 4 cd set of him reciting the bible over the sound bird noises he will because he wants to and no one would say don't be stupid!

Prince gets bored to easily and doesn't try to properly promote a project at all. The last album I remember him "properly" promoting was Musicology. He was on television, in movie theaters, and touring the US and parts of Canada. All while giving out copies of the cd to each concert goer.

I really think the Lotus project would have worked with Target if he had done a little more television. Nothing really big, but he could have done more than Jay Leno and Tavis Smiley (which has a very small amount of viewers in compairson to what he could be doing). However after about 2 weeks, the project was done. So sad.

He was on Jay Leno three times in one week & The Ellen Show which is a pretty huge talk show next to The now defunct Oprah show. say that is pretty huge viewerships & enough to push units. LotusFlow3r is now almost gold, which is excellent for a virtually no radio airplay & no hits.

it went gold a few months ago...and it wasnt because they dropped the price...that happens with every album and he had already sold 450,000 copies...getting a gold album now is no small achievement....

And remember, his tour names do not neccessarily tie into an album: Nude, Act 1 and 2, Love4OneAnother, Jam Of The Year, etc.

Yeah he said on Lopez that he was in recording rehab because of the music industry changes. He used to record music because he loved doing it, not because he could find a great way to sell it. He said in early interviews that he didn't consider it work.

Of course all has changed and maybe it's good that he won't release a new album if he doesn't have any inspiration for it other than getting a big payday.

Hey - they fact that the man strives to do an album a year is amazing !

Hopefully he'll do another UK newspaper deal to tie in with the UK festival gig and then maybe some tie ins with magazines/newspapers in Europe...that seems to be the way forward now for distribution.

I just hope it will be a much better album this time than 20TEN!
