jazzz said: About a year ago, I suggested that Prince should do a collabaration with Sir Paul. Most reactions then were negative (as some are on this topic). But still I would like to see that happen. Please be open minded in this, one can never predict what happens when two of those geniuses work together. It can be fantasic, total sh*t, or something in between. It would be great alone to have McCartney play bass on a Prince song...
To everything in your post, just everything... You mean you're gonna actually hear what we play tonight? You're not gonna make up the notes in your mind?

I'd take that seriously, I mean Prince has had Elton John on stage covering a McCartney song. He worked on a wholke album with.... Bonnie Raitt!
Prince does a lot of songs that have a McCartney vibe from the hated "Everybody Loves Me" (kind of like something like "Temporary Secretary"?) to "Had U" to "Take Me With U"...
Shit, Paul McCartney has such a wide range from childlike to adult nasty... it's hard to figure it out. He also did things like "Why don't We Do it in the Road?" and "Helter Skelter", "Coming Up"
ha... on a good day they would have come up with another "Starfish and Coffee" or "Darling Niki"... on a bad day, another "Wedding Feast". My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

Paul McCartney = Musical Genius Anyone who says otherwise has not done the research. Listen to the albums "McCartney" and "Ram" then while you're at it: Revolver Rubber Soul Sgt Pepper Magical Mystery Tour The White Album Abbey Road Paul McCartney invented "produced, arranged, composed and performed by" and pop music would not sound like is does without him. Hate The Beatles. Especially hate Macca. Sort of...I appreciate some of the Beatles stuff but looking at it retrospectively I don't think they are that great...but at the time I'm sure they would. Cant stand McCartney and his 'don't you know who I am?' attitude....yeah, you're quarter of a defunct very successful band, half of an aclsimed writing partnership and nothing on your own - you're the Tony M of the 60s [Edited 5/31/11 4:38am] I'm not sure Tony M was as bad as Paul Mc Cartney. They are both to stingy to ever be able to divide the profit of a song

actually those albums by The Beatles deserves just a slight more respect than for what Prince has achieved in his peak 1980-1988, IMO.
Respect, a lot of it..... from me to The Beatles / Paul Mccartney.
ps I love
Tug Of War, ... and Pipes Of Peace
- those are imo 2 great pop albums by Paul McCartney, from the early 1980's...

x infinity.
Kids.
See? This is why rock and roll today sucks. Kids don't understand what started the whole thing. They think Nirvana or some other shitty band like Green Day or Fall Out Boy started rock and roll.

Those albums are great too. Was toying with the idea of downloading the remastered Tug Of War. Definitely will, I'm enjoying discovering some of McCartneys work and buy an old Wings album every now and again. I would shit my pants if Prince and Paul ever did something together!

It´s hard to say how Prince will be remembered. I personally put him in the same category of Stevie Wonder and David Bowie, with the difference that Prince isnt taken as seriously as them by some people, yet. Especially by people who dont know his work. Maybe because he appeared later on the music scene and in a decade that is considered ´shallow´ and ´silly´ (the 80s).
On the other hand, it´s nice to see that, despite having his last hit in 93, Prince is now seen as a musical legend, headlining festivals, being inducted in the RRHOF, etc. Maybe he will get his true recognition when he is older, with those Life Achievement Awards.
About Macca, I am not a Beatles fan, but the guy is a legend, period. It´s nice that someone like him praises Prince. I never knew what the Beatles thought of Prince. [Edited 6/5/11 16:37pm]

Actually Paul is know (and hated by some for) to be a pretty humble guy for a Rock Star.

He certainly comes across as a genuinely nice person, I just have to imagine that he is (understandably) a bit of a controlling presence in the workplace. George Harrison (& others) would almost certainly agree.
