I would!!! I have been waiting for Prince to come to the Midwest so I can take all my nieces and nephews, ages 3-10. They love him and want to see him so bad live. I thought about taking them all the L.A. to see him, but traveling with 6 kids that far is not enticing. I can do St. Louis or Chicago, even MPLS, so I'm hoping for one of those dates sometime in the near future. They ask me almost everyday when they are going to see him..They've seen probably 30-40 of his past performances, and he is pretty tame now.
I don't see an issue. As long as they are music/concert lovers and has some knowledge of Prince. If they aren't into music or Prince, then maybe think on it. I'd still take them, its a great experience. The kids in my family are music lovers, its in their genes, they've seen Josh Turner, Kid Rock, Beiber, El Debarge, Snoop, Britney, Keith Sweat, Faith Hill, and plenty other folks. We are a concert going family. [Edited 5/26/11 12:31pm] Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

I've been a fan for close to 30 years. Seen my first show over 25 years ago. I couldn't wait to bring my kids to their first show. They are 7 and 5. 5 year old passed out about an hour into the set but my 7 year old danced his butt off.
Was I able to enjoy every second of the show like usual? No. Was it an amazing experience that I shared with my children and we'll never forget...YES! "Paisley Park is in your Heart"

Why the hell would you take a 7 year old to a concert if it's not some Disney-bullshit type thing to entertain them?
Really, this is an outrageously stupid idea.

This will be even better than a Disney show I woulda thought.
How about I give her a test, if she can name 20 Prince songs in under 5 minutes she can go?

Yes. But if they're into Prince they wouldn't be bored. Just tired.

It's obvious. | |

Again, it's obvious why.

I would bring my kids to see Prince. He has really cleaned up his show. It's family friendly now.

Is you seven-year-old tall enough to see over the guy in front of her who is standing up to dance? Because I don't care how much you paid for your kid to see Prince, you don't have the right to expect adults to sit down for a two–three hour live show just so the kid behind them can see.

Despite the fact that she likes his music and his shows are far more family-friendly than they used to be, the logistics of it might be a deterrent if you consider them (the height difference, the volume difference, the cost, etc.). But if it's something SHE wants to do and you approve of taking her, there's nothing anyone here can do to stop you. time flies.

I took my daughter to three Prince concerts when she had just turned 8. She loved every one of them. We sat right up close, and the sound was no problem. The only obstacle I had was at the first show, there two tall people in front of us, so I had to hold her in my arms most of the show. It was no problem.
Don't listen to the naysayers or those that think a Prince concert is an "adult night out". It's not. It's a Prince concert, and he wants all ages there.
I hope you guys have a great time!
