What a stupid question. Obviously Prince is a good dancer. His style is not like that of MJ in his hay day or Chris Brown or those types. Prince's style has changed tremendously during his lifetime of constant metamorphosis. His stage presence and constant movement is what separates him from all others. I once read a concert review of the Lovesexy tour that read "makes MJ look like he's standing still". Prince moves around the stage so much and as an orger previously stated he struts like no other. Unlike MJ, Prince has never been a great video artist which is why many do not recognize him as a great dancer. His videos didn't involve 20 dancers all doing the same thing.

That being said. Prince is first & foremost a once in a lifetime musician and songwriter & performer. I'd rate him as a good singer and a good dancer. No one else comes close to being as well rounded as the self proclaimed "Purple Yoda".

Prince still dances and performs at an extremely high level. U don't need to be a genius to see that.

Ive always rated Prince's dancing. When you look at some of the moves in SOTT movie- he is almost balletic at times. However what makes it even better is that I feel he has always managed to look graceful but still natural. I find it much more enjoyable to watch than say MJ-thats not to diss him per se it's just that all that choreography is a bit tiresome.

What I would say tho is that in the 1970's when you see him on TV programmes he didnt seem to dance too well then. Either he trained himself or he just became better.

The question wasn't "Is Prince completely original in his dancing?" it was "Can he dance?"

Nobody is completely original on stage. It's pretty much a given by now that anything anyone does HAS been done before.

He can dance his ass off, and dare I say, at times right up there with a certain someone But then if he suddenly strips and starts acting sexual in a bed and doing all those positions, it really distracts from his skill once I start getting into really appreciating it....I like it when things are left to the imagination

Yes I think Prince can dance. Mostly he seems to like to entertain via his musical instruments, but when he let's loose he dances incredibly good imo.

What I would say is check out the "Kiss" performance from May 7, 2011.

Dude tore it up with the dancing!!! It was just straight sick! You would've swore he wasn't 52 years old with the way he was getting down.

Yes, I would say so. To me, for most of his career, I think he has been a pretty good dancer.

Who does know how to dance? Some people are specified in some kind and some style: some classic dancers, some hip hop, some tribal dancers..

Price who's how to move, his way of moving is part of his own style, as long as it's harmoniously combined with himself..

But isnt that what dancing is? His own movements and self expression? Its dancing either way, weather you find it cool or not or if Prince himself likes it is all in taste of who likes what. Its his own style dancing, and theres no real rule to dancing.

Everyone loves Michael Jacksons dancing, but not all his moves are all likable, like some of his ballerina moves. But his dancing skill is still A+ in execution

If were talking about prince skill in dancing, then I'd say B since hes a little stiff some times. If where talking about originality and liking his style, then thats a whole different story. Personally I think its his style that makes the dancing stand out.

The Arsenio Hall perfomance of Kiss was great and all original, loved that performance.

You've got to come up with a better example than that. Matter of fact, I'll help you: The best dancing Prince has ever done was the live choreography with the Game Boyz, from 1990-'92. But nonetheless, I still agree with Free2BeMe.
