yes he can perform his ass off

and he can dance well for an average person

he just looks alittle off

like certain people you can "feel" them speaking through their body

i dont get that with prince

for example beyonce can dance but cant dance

she looks slightly off, likes she trying to hard its not natural

exactly he wouldn't t fit in with other dancers on the dance floor because he's just too Prince-like with his movements. I saw him dancing in a club and he sicks out badly.

Yes he dances like chicken with its head cut off but yet dances with the beat

He was a good dancer. But I prefer to see him holding a guitar or bass.

Prince was and still is a great dancer. His best dancing imo was from 1988 to 1992.

He is very "different" in his approach to dancing. I always saw him as someone just jiving to his music.

For someone who basically improvises his choreography, Prince is a phenomenal dancer. That and he just looks cool doing it.

I think he's in control of his dance moves. He's doing exactly what he wants to. Even in Purple Rain days, he made a marketing decision to avoid and change his type of movements away from anything related to Jackson, since the two were being competitively compared and he was the newcomer to the spotlight. He's careful on choosing his moves to fit his image at the time.

compare how he moves in say... the Partyman or Batdance videos to someone like Lady Gaga on her videos. You can see which one can actually dance.

Or look at any number of live performances like Pussy Control, The Gold Album Medley, Aresnio Hall Show #1, or even the SOTT film.

Check out the solo dancing segment in the bootlegs of US Lovesexy shows.

Also check the Thieves in the Temple video.

Not to mention he breaks out into ballet moves on the Nude tour.

Actually much of the Nude tour was his most precise and swift dancing.

Or do you mean just standing and moving to a beat? Like what would he do at a night club?

precisely dead on! watch the moves in the SOTT Movie video for housequake where he slides on his back backwards. a style within its own. No more splits these days for whatever reason but when he used to do them it was smooth and he pulled it off well. I have recently been watching his shows in LA especially for his current dancing abilities. He still does his famous twirls one leg folded up Prince style very well. The dance routine he and the girls do during COOL and Let's Work are still enjoyable to watch and you bet your bottom dollar they rehearse it heavily because it's in sync and it looks professional. I love that you mentioned the Nude tour! The dancing between him and the others in the group seemed to be the main focus more so than just the music. I just saw him in the Forum Clubb two nights ago after party dancing in the crowd and the boy can get his groove on even in a club setting. I've always loved his dancing and if there was one thing I wish he could or would still do it would be the splits.

I've never considered Prince as being a "dancer" either, although he can dance.

Prince is a good dancer because he feels the groove naturally. Who gives a f... about learning choreographed steps!

Exactly!! That's what I like so much about his current dancing ... it is completely natural, he feels the music and it mostly looks good at the same time! Plus, I think he could do a lot of great dance moves if he wanted to. - Just watch some of the fast little moves he does during his Kiss dance, and I don't mean the hip shaking part (although I love to see that)! All throughout the show he throws in some moves that suggest what he could do ... if he chose to. Most importantly - he is obviously having fun, for example when he does that crazy dance with Shelby during Cool and Let's Work. biggrin

I'm more a fan of improvised choreography than the one-two type of choreo. That's good too but I love it when someone improvises as Prince does.

that move is insane. i've watched that clip hundreds of times and still can't fathom how he moves into the splits! with prince being so small he had a low centre of gravity that allowed him to do stuff nobody else could. i mean, you never saw mj horizontal did you?? biggrin

Lawd that man has pulled true crazy acts, just couldn't believe what I saw.

Still. I stand by my men Savian Glover and joaquin Cortez

I agree he doesn't move like he did before, but after seeing some recent clips he still has some of it in him. I 'm glad to see him dancing again because to me it brings a little energy and excitement to his show.

Agreed. I love how P works his audiance.

However, saw Madonna's last performance in I think Argentina, and it was great. She was dancing and vibrant and had a whole pool of dancers out there. Just loved it.

I've never seen the twins, so I don't know how they add to his vibe.

Do you think he would ever share the stage with a male dancer? Or do we have to look at his girls dancing, you think?

Would be cool to have some beautiful hot professionale male dancers on the floor. horny

His ego wouldn't allow for male dancers who look as andgroynously beautiful (as some of Madonna's dancers are) to share the stage with a man who's known for his androgyny and the last time he hired male dancers he was trying to act like he was all into hip-hop all of a sudden. lol

i do love how he moves & slides, his legs are so bendy & he can continue to pump his hips & 'feel on himself' !! i have no problem with that
