I've heard that fans of a particular artist, celeb, etc. are drawn to them because they see a reflection of themselves in that artist. So, if/since Prince generally "hates" his fans and Prince fans (orgers) generally "hate" Prince, does that mean we are all on the same page? Prince is known to be a diva and Orgers generally complain about almost everything the man does, so does that mean we're all cool? Do we love to hate Prince or does he love to hate us? Thoughts?

The idea that orgers who bring up questions about Prince's motives/decisions/career choices "hate" him is really tiring.

No one on this damn website hates Prince.

Ugh---I wrote "hates" in quotes for a reason, LIGHTEN UP, you seem so, like, angry with your responses to people, LOL. Not everyone lives on the Org and I just joined a while back so pardon me for not knowing the whole freakin' history of posed questions Now, with that out of the way, I was just trying to have a bit of fun.

Personally speaking I believe it's a 1/2 and 1/2 situation with Prince Fans:

Some of 'us' are cool people who love the brother's music and wouldn't mind hanging out with him and talk shop (music or religion), like me. Then you have other fans who LOVE Prince like wanting to marry him or be involved in a relationship with him like Manuela, if I'm not mistaken she was a fan of Prince's (we know how that worked out).

Thinking on the 'reflection' part, I'd like Prince being a JW similiar to me being a Sunni Muslim. We are both learned brothers when it comes to our faith and holy book, so yeah, I can see that (part) ...

I really love Prince, don't "hate" him and I'm happy to see him still wowing the masses even entering his fourth decade of his career (wow!). I'd love to sit around and eat vegan food (err um, non-red meat food) and vibe with him about chemtrails, cap'n crunch and soymilk (seriously, I'd love that, LOL!)

I think in general a lot of fans see something in an artist that's a reflection of themselves, so perhaps we're all a bunch of narcissistic, creative, genuis types here on the Org

Its a Love to hate to love relationship

Judging by a lot of the comments on some other threads, a lot of hate is going around right now, LOL. The whole Live Nation fiasco has brought out the legions of "Prince is done" naysayers....here we go again, LOL!

the original post made me chuckle. i definitely see your point, although i never thought of it that way before.

it is strange how prince lashes out at his fans so often (telemarketer blues, f.u.n.k., etc.) but doesn't praise fans much (at least that i'm aware of). at least on the org, there's a balance of praise and critique, and sometimes outright hostility and worship.

It's a tight line between love and hate.
