The Musicology Acoustic Medley vs The W2A Sample Medley

I heard them both, I much rather Prince sitting with his acoustic guitar than him pressing a key and the track plays while he sings. They both serve the same purpose, but I wish he included an acoustic encore with just him and the guitar on this tour. That was real special and intimate.

Which one do you prefer?

The acoustic is deep and meaningful whereas the sample set is based on fun. The prior is way better and much preferred.

Acoustic all the way. Give me Prince on solo guitar or acoustic piano any day.

Acoustic is better, but as mentioned on here, the sample sset is a bit of fun.

We were lucky at the O2 as he started with the Acoustic and as the 21 nights went on he changed to the sample set.

Acoustic if I had my choice, but the W2A concert in Columbia was still perfect.

I think it's what distinguishes the two tours. I loved the acoustic set but I saw that tour 4 times and now am enjoying the sample medley.

I always felt certain songs don't always translate well live such as When Doves Cry, Hot Thing, I Would Die 4 U etc..mainly due to live drums and its just a treat to hear him sing along to the original beats.

I was not aware of a Musicology acoustic medley. Is it on a dvd somewhere? Or on a bootleg?

Acousitc, more intimate with the audience and personal biggrin

The W2A one is fun and for everyone, but the Musicology kinda feels like everyone had Prince to themselves

Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! biggrin In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!!

Prince played an acoustic slot at all(most) Musicology shows.

There are a lot of them out there. Musicology shows that is.

The first show in LA was professionally shot and is pretty easy to find although not an official release. I've seen it in old record shops here in LA.

Acoustic set would be a bit of a drag this time around considering how long he did it on the Musicology tour. Only so much you can do with it besides the version of LRC is much more exciting now than it was during the acoustic set.

It's no contest. The acoustic medley by far.

I REALLY like the acoustic set P did during the Musicology Era but, that sampler is 'IT'. I get chills from watchin' P play every nostalgic track. I didn't get chills from the acoustic set and when I get chills from somethin' then I KNOW, that's that 'IT' factor ...

Acoustic. No offense, but I don't want Prince doing karaoke. Even if it's his own Karaoke cd. that's what the sample medley is to me. (I don't hate it-just don't prefer it.)

He could just play the keyboard like he did during Lovesexy or guitar like on Musicology, and I'd be happy.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

the sampler set is typical Prince and his cultivated gemini attitude.

He is often yapping about real music for real music lovers, refering to his music through his band.

In this case he lets the band sit aside and plays from computer...

acoustic any time.

I'm not really a fan of the Sample set....

Give me real music by real musicians every time....
