What have you ever contributed besides talking shit on a daily/weekly basis? Hell, even Bart has information with his vitriol sometimes.
And Militant you know better than to repsond to an asshole like this.

Who gave you a ticket for this show, idiot?
You can't know what I've contributed (or if I've done it at all) since you don't know me and I don't like having my ass publicly licked.
The last thing I'd do is giving the info I could have to someone like you.

Thank you both for your positive and constructive feedback. Allways friendly, open and ever so respectful to orgers. It's a good thing no ego's are in the way of trying to understand what the other person wants to say or comes from. You'r both appreciated for that.
So, let's get back to the thread.
Millitant has constructed a documentary about 'Parade'.
I'm curious about the material and possibly new insights. If not, I'll already be happy just to listen to some P chitchat and his music.
I've got no idea of times. What time will it broadcast in Amsterdam? Do I need to sign up for the website and can I then listen to it? I have developed social skills, however, forgot to develop any technical or digital skills. Am pretty backwards in that area
99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Terrific job! "Parade" is my favorite Prince album and I didn't know much about the creation of what I feel is his most complex work. I was fascinated to hear the demo of "Kiss," the Mazarati version of "Kiss," and Apollonia 6's "Manic Monday."

The documentary is brilliant and the album is a masterpiece, imo. I really am quite fortunate to have experienced Prince's musical journey (that darn SISIA makes me weepy and nostalgic every time). Thank you Militant; job well done.

This was a great listen. I love how you've managed to get hold of better quality versions of charade than I have. The whole show was put together very tastefully I think. Sometimes the music was a bit too loud when people were talking, but I would agree that when it comes to prince, the music is so good in the early 80s, that you can't really put the volume down. Nice interviews, and Dr. Fink really did show love for Prince without sounding biased. And it was nice to hear about the negative sides of being a prince fan, haha. Being teased at school. Most Prince fans has probably been.

Thanks
Was clearance obtained for broadcasting the unreleased demo version of 'Kiss'? ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

yeah, i'd be curious what the deal is with that.
I assume it's ok to use the original Apollonia 6 Manic Monday because it was the pre-release tape? Has anyone got a copy or even a picture of that?
Ha! You got a couple of seconds of All My Dreams in there as well [Edited 4/23/11 10:15am]

I think you guys did an awesome job. I love that you went through the album tracks, not just the singles. I know we all know this stuff, but I bet you blew a few minds of casual fans/listeners who'd never heard stuff like Manic Monday or the demo and Mazarati versions of Kiss etc. Really good job

Wonderful. Really wonderful.
So many of Prince's 80s albums could stand up to this treatment - an in depth look with informed opinions and contributions from key participants. He would get so much respect if he encouraged more of this to happen rather than Africa channel puff piece type thing. His work deserves serious analysis, maybe it'll come when his key albums eventually get re-released/remastered etc.
Congratulations Militant on an awesome job - could you now do a doc on SOTT please

I love it. The commentary is great. The parts of the movie interjected in the mix is funny and I find myself laughing out loud at the funy parts of the movie. I might have to find time to watch UTCM tonight. Thanks Militant Great Job !!!!!!! Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead.
Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either. Just leave me the hell alone

I'm certain they considered it fair use under news exemption.

I'm sure that would be argued where no agreement had been secured. And the amount of material used would likely be argued as fair and proportionate. I'm also sure there are some counter-arguments. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Not a dull moment from start to finish. Thank you! Also, nicely placed within the context of what came before, what was happening at the same time, and what came after Parade...
Intriguing how he went from the rather dull vocal arrangement of Mazarati's Kiss (hadn't heard that one before) to his own piece of unrelenting brilliance... It showcases how he was able to make all the right choices in his arrangements, making sure his songs could sound as nothing else that came before, yet be part of identifiable genres nevertheless. Let's just say he's relaxed those norms a bit...

Great documentary. Well balanced between casual and hardcore.
My favourite is the guy talking about the ribbing he got a school when Kiss came out. Thats a mirror of what happened to me. .
