20K's a lot of Prince concerts I could go fly to and see him play. If he put the word out he was doing some shows at Paisley Park, I'd get everyone to convince him to get the 5 songs out of the vault for the audience to listen to them... and have the hottest girl in the room that he can't keep his eyes off of ask him. She'd get a couple of hundred.

How you would answer this question could depend as much on how wealthy you are as it does on how much you value unreleased Prince music. A more interesting question might be whether you would choose the 5 never-before-heard Purple Rain-era songs over the opportunity to have Prince come over to your house and play 5 selections from 20Ten to you and your friends.

I'd rather have Prince at my house playing those awesome 20Ten jams......Laydown, Future Soul Song, Act of GOD, Lavaux, and Beginning Endlessly. I'd be on cloud 9!!!! And maybe I could talk him into singing more...lol

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

I guess I would choose the personal concert too. But after it was over, I might wish I had gotten those unreleased gems instead.

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

Absolutly would expect a personal concert for that kind of money in today's economy because 5 CD for $20K is too steep.

$20,000. Easy. As long as it's tax free.

Don't get me wrong...I do love Prince and his music, however, right now, I'm tired of just hearing PR at his concerts, so I would take the $20K. I have been into Prince since the 70's, however, I just can't take hearing PR all the time. I want to hear some of his other "kids", not just PR. Prince treats his other songs like "red-headed stepchildren". Shoot, he needs to change the focus off of Purple Rain. That was over 27 years ago. I realize all of the newbie Prince fans want to hear PR, but dang, give it a break, please...cool cool

I love Prince like a play cousin but I'd definitely take the money. I'm not hard up for cash either! Afterall, I've made it this far without hearing the songs.

I'd take the money and try to purchase with it far more than 5 uncirculating tracks.

How would you go about doing that? Maybe drop by Pepe Willies and see what he has hidden in the basement? lol

If Pepe had anything in his basement it would be on one of the 17 versions of the 94 East tracks...

Someone gives you the choice between accepting $20K or a CD with 5 Purple Rain-era songs from the vault. The songs are described as "better than anything on the album and the B-sides and were never released because they were too personal to P."

The catch is you can never copy the tracks or ever distribute them.

Just a fun little hypothetical.

Oh boy, I just got amused off reading everyone's comments. When I first read the question I chose the Prince songs. But then most reason that they may just be worms in a can... If try were legitimate Peincey songs with vocals, price, and that Purple Rain touch, then I would choose the Prince songs. smile true fan.

But then I would like to see him in concert many times using the 20k so I guess either way we're all hardcore for those who agree with my two reasons of the two options.
Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! biggrin In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!!

You didn't say you couldn't invite people to your house and play them, and charge them for the privilege.

So I'd take the songs, charge $20 a ticket, and invite the whole damn .org lol

That way you'd have the songs and you'd make money, and you wouldn't have lost any money because you didn't pay your own money for the songs in the first place.... you only turned down money. LOL

Well, maybe not everyone on the org since we know there are some idiots here... lol. And I won't mention any names, but if they respond to my statement here then we'll know.. lmao!

By the way, to the poster... is that 20,000.00 tax free?

Prince is already too private for most. That's probably one of the main reasons people can't stand him. Cause it's just too much. His persona is too much to handle for some. Prince songs that are more private than they already are sounds almost impossible.
