According to the biographies he built it in late 1985 and early 1986 and moved in there with Susannah in September 1986, propmptly moved her out to a warehouse block of studios and lived there until Mayte came along, after that they lived in the studio more than the home. I think he was still living there now.

This replaced a purple House on Lake Kiowa trail, which he had bought in 1980 and gave it to John L Nelson in 1986.

He lived in a cottage from 1978 to 1980 which he was given by Husney and his girlfriends first Kim Upsher and then Susan Moonsie lived there with him.

Paisley Park was opened in September 1987 and is about 1km from his house, from the start, Prince had accommodation made for him in the studios and he was often holed up there when he was recording or rehearsing. Its still be promoted as being available for other people to record and Prince has obviously tried to make it pay for himself.
