Invite [ in-vahyt, verb]

to request the presence or participation of in a kindly, courteous, or complimentary way, especially to request to come or go to some place, gathering, entertainment, etc., or to do something: to invite friends to dinner.

The Time - The Original 7

what exactly does that mean? Has Prince invited them to perform in LA with him???

Interesting. Maybe they were invited to G. Lopez' show to perform as well, and also will perform with Prince. Now that would be very surprising, classic and awesome if Prince and the Time perform together on the same stage tonight and pump up the Minneapolis funk..... ::Drinking 2 extra cups of coffee to try and stay up until 12 am, to not miss George's show:: coffee coffee

I go to a show to enjoy a show, not to obsess over someone. There's a reason that PART of the show is called a "light show." There's a reason that the stage is huge. There's a reason that some performances are in arenas and some are at small night clubs. Maybe you didn't get the memos. Carry on....

thank you for your honest opinion. and that is what it is, thank you... I was not putting your "opinion" down or being nasty. You like being out in the open, I like being up close.... no one is right or wrong. No need for nastiness... my God.

Actually, it's not an opinion that I go to a show....to enjoy a show. It's not an opinion that I don't obsess over people. It's not an opinion that there's a light show. It's not an opinion that the stage, for this particular show is rather large, if compared to other stages that Prince has used. It's not an opinion that Prince performs in places of all sizes and comments on the FACT that he sometimes prefers intimate settings, sometimes not. I like having good seats to shows. Seats with obstructed views are noted of such. So Illuminations: there's a time to be up close and a time when it takes away from the overall impact of a performance. There's no nastiness here, but if my direct, common sense approach is a problem.....can't help you.

Question: How many of you would rather be 1) On the floor section 2) Up in the nose bleed section 3) Four to Five feet away from Prince 4) In the higher sections ~ at a Prince concert. Apparently, I am dumb because I bought vip tickets and was able to see the ENTIRE stage and all the musicians from my table in the vip section. I am disabled, and it was the only place that I would have been comfortable, but certain people continue to argue about a silly thing as "which place is best to be at a concert"... or that since I was so close that I am "obsessing" over Prince. What do you all think? Love 4 One Another and Your Mother...cool

This seems like Prince history in the making with the 21 night stand.

I sincerely hope there is a quality behind the scenes documentary filming.

After nearly 40 shows, only being right up in his face is good enough for me...I actually was a click away from buying VIP tix for next weeks show because I just can't stand that symbol stage. I got "burned" during Musicology because he did work most of the entire stage. This means there are plenty of times when he is performing with his back to you and you don't get the full feel of the night...at least that is how it is for me. If it wasn't for that dang stage I'd be flying from Vegas to LA VIP but I just can't spend that kind of money and not be dead center...Bring back ONA. Now if Prince comes to Vegas, it might be too hard to resist...and I'm a guy who has flown over 9,000 miles to go to Prince concerts...

You are not "obsessing" and if so, it's your thang, do what U want to do...

This show only perpetuates the stereotype that George Lopez is funny..

P really must hate us.. to make us sit through this painful b.s. just to see him play a few songs.

Well.. that kinda sucked.

Laydown sped-up must've sounded better in his head... it didn't work in real life. Not his best guitar work either.

High hopes for the rest of the show though.

I loved that opening! woot! Performing "LayDown". Not to mention he looks fantastic!

Now he's doing the Beautiful Ones with Misty Copeland dancing..nice performance.

Recap of interview with Prince and George, before the Beautiful Ones performance. The interview with Prince and George was not bad at all. (Paraphrasing). He asked him if he owned any vinyls, and Prince said he kept/has all his records. He mentions the music of the 60s/70s/80s as the days when good music/song were written/performed, and artists stood next to famed artists like Wilson Pickett, James Brown and Ike and Tina Turner. George ask Prince if he feels responsible for the internet language, he laughs and I think Princes says something like it's been around before that. He asked Prince how does he feel about the internet/music wise.

Prince stated he doesn't mind fans playing his music but when the industry does or uses one of his songs that, like one sung by Sinead or Chaka khan, they use it in a way where it's not acknowledged that he wrote that paricular song. He also said artists are not really making as much money when selling their songs through the internet the way they were paid before that change took place.Prince didn't focus on that too much on that, in the interview though, just gave a short opinion of it. George then asked him how he felt about the internet on a general basis, and Prince said, the internet has all kinds of crazy things going happening on there now, but he'd rather not go into it, and laughed.

George asked Prince if he is a vegan, and Prince states he's a vegetarian, and will not eat red meat. George asked him earlier why he picked his show to be on and not the other late night shows, and Prince stated, that when when he looks into George's audience, he sees a representation of all people. George also commended Prince for his charitable contributions to many organizations.

Nice that George namechecked MSG also in the early part of the interview. Prince mentioned he auctioned off the "Gold Guitar", which Lewis Hamilton, car racer bought for $100,000, and that it's going to be hard to part with that guitar.

Last performance: Sheila E performing with the band. Prince and the band playing, while Shelby J takes a solo lead, and sings a cover of "You're the one for me", and dances. Confetti comes down. Elisa and Lliv on side of Shelby J singing. Shelby J looks great! George and Rosario on stage dancing. Prince walking around playing a drum. Performance over. Prince thanks George and Rosario and namechecks Sheila E. Then he says "21 Nights start now!"

(If I missed anything in the recap, feel free to add/correct me on it)

George's show repeats in 2 hours at 2am, EST.

Have fun L.A. fans!

Too bad he's not keeping it.
