Around The World in a Day overlooked?

Of all the Prince albums that get mentioned, reviewed, talked about. I find this album doesnt really get much mention. I think this is one of Princes most different albums, totally different to Purple Rain...which is good as a follow up.

I love the title track, Paisely Park and well all of it lol. The album artwork is great too, real psychedelic and hippy.

I agree what you say and I think I see this on the fora too. Often the range PR tot LoveSexy is mentioned as highlight of his career. SOTT and Parade are then often named within that range but ATWIAD is named less than the others.

However when you ask it directly people tend to mention ATWIAD also a personal favorite.

ATWIAD gets a lot of love even though its derivative of PR.

The Ladder=PR, America = Baby Im A Star, R Beret = Take Me With U, Condition-The Beautiful Ones...

Then he would know it gets much love if he has been looking here forever. This is not that difficult.

A lot of us like you love it as the masterpiece it is! Check this podcasst out by the way: http://peachandblack.podb...ay-review/

If you are talking about the general public or media, I quite agree. Back in the days it was a great shock to many people that following his megahit Purple Rain he would release a record so uncommercial and with hardly any guitar.

One of the boldest moves of his career - and the one that proved him to be not just another pop star, but a genuine genious artist.

I think almost every Prince album is overlooked, at least by the general public.

You mean you're gonna actually hear what we play tonight? You're not gonna make up the notes in your mind?

I agree....Prince loves the process of making music so much...each album is like a brainstorm..which is why we don't always love all of them, but we all love his genius!

I would love Prince to take a risk at something musically challenging again, I suppose The Rainbow Kids/N.E.W.S was the last time he thought "fuck the masses, this is what I want to release now."

I'm not talking about another ATWIAD or Parade, times and artists change blah blah, but it would be nice to have Prince release an album from time to time that put it's hand down the front of your trousers and had a little rummage.

Considering his grammar skills, I don't think he could handle it himself.
