I've hardly played Rave after about three months following its release. Still, it's not as bad as some people make it out to be. You mean that Rave wasn't worst "non-butchered by record execs" album he put out. Rave is the only album of his that I wish I never bought. Rave Please make it stop I'm running out of ammo unto the Crap Diastrous woah...even more so than "new power soul"? New Power Soul wasn't "officially" a Prince album it was a NPG album on which Prince appear very prominately like Exodus.

I believe Teller considers Newpower Soul Prince's 90s Black Album. Clearly, there is a difference in their sound and quality. Well intentioned party music?

D & P only has one 'Jughead', Rave is full of Jugheads (okay, without the rap!)!

Actually, a tough choice for me. If you put the best songs against each other, Diamonds wins a little, but the mere presence of Tony Awful M, and the Mr Money Minder speech at the end of Jughead, makes Rave the better album. Prince may say "Money Don't Matter 2night," but then he charges $20 for Jam of the Year/Face Down live, full of overdubs, and he was singing to music AND BACKING TAPES...but then again, I have always heard whispers that most major collection agencies have a PRINCE CD ROM, and not that Gold Experience thing. Personally, I hope Price doesn't have money problems, but at least he's not Michael Jackson.

Yeah that pretty much was the concensus of the survivor thread that went on last summer. Rave was very unpopular. I still prefer it though..
