Mine would be:
1. Wendy and Lisa weren't as important to Prince's music as what some say.
Most of his best music is Pre-Wendy and Post-Wendy and Lisa.
2. Dez is a far better guitarist than Wendy.
3. Adding Tony M to the band was crap. If Prince wanted rappers, he should've hired real rappers like he did years later with Chuck D and Doug E Fresh.

1. Around the World in a Day (an album) is shit. 2. Forever in My Life, Housequake, The Ballad of Dorothy Parker and Strange Relationship too. 3. Grafitti Bridge (movie) sucks. 4. One Nite Alone and The Rainbow Children too. 5. New Power Generation is better than The Revolution. 6. Mayte has big infuelnce on Prince's music. 7. The Sign O The Times Movie is terrible, UTCM is the best film i've ever seen. 8. I love O)+> years. 9. Lovesexy is awful, but performance from Dortmund is really good. 10. I don't know, what is so great about Lady Cab Driver, International Lover, New Positiom, Mountains. 11. 1992 and 1995/1996 are the best years. 12. Chaos & Disorder isn't so bad. 13. I really like MPLSound and Lotusflow3r. 14. 3 Chains O' Gold (movie) isn't so bad. 15. I prefer Sheila E. and Cat to Wendy, Lisa and other girls from 1999/Purple Rain era.

1. Prince is not a great dancer - he's not even good.
2. Willing and Able is a lame song.
3. is his best album of the 90's
4. He's done some great songs in '00, some are better then part of his tracks from 80's

Not touring the USA with SOTT was a very clever decision. It wouldn't have been successful.

I never really liked "Take Me With U", average at best in my opinion.

you're correct but I wish people would give the reasons to support why they think what they do. Purple Rain tour was better than the previous tours, I would think.

To me, its the mastering. SOTT has the potential to have its soundscape widened with a proper mastering in 2011.

Many of them really couldn't. Very especially chelsearogerslovesya.

Play in the Sunshine does have live drums. The drum machine on the track plays overtop the live drums acting as percussion.

I would actually like to see three versions of SOTT:
1. A version that is faithful to the sound of the original vinyl but properly remastered for CD. That way I can listen to it the way it was originally meant to be heard without having to bring a turntable everywhere I go. 2. A version that is faithful to the sound of the first-generation master tape, which may sound different from the vinyl. 3. A version that is remixed from the multi-tracked tapes to sound as good as it can with the present state of technology, but without any censorship.
Unfortunately, what we may get (if anything) is a remaster that is louder and compressed but doesn't meet any of these criteria. Or we may get SOTT: The New Master, with new lyrics to comport with Prince's current religious perspective. "Shut up, already, darn!" Urgh. Really? Could you elaborate on that? I thought this was widely regarded as one of his biggest career mistakes. Even some people who´ve worked with him said so. Don´t you think that the album and the tour would have supported each other ? I understand why the Lovesexy tour wasn´t very successful in the USA but SOTT was much more accessible ( and probably much cheaper, too). " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I can't add much to the last 6 pages of posts and I haven't read every single post but, what I find somewhat controversial is that 20Ten was released over in Europe and has not seen the light of day in the U.S. of A. and other countries and I wonder what was on P's mind when he did that. Not the many different points of views we all can come up with but, I often wonder why he did that. Now, there's a rumor (started on Facebook, where I saw it first) that there 'may' be a new album or TWO coming out this June or July. Like I said, not that controversial but, just thinking out loud ... Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

20ten is a better album than The Gold Experience.
The One U Wanna C is his best song since 1988.
Colonized Mind is the weakest song on Lotusflower and the Morning After is better and should have been included instead.

I think Mayte had the greatest influence on him as an artist and he wrote some of his best music while he was with her.
His girlfriends get wierder looking every year.
The Holy River and Wasted Kisses are his best songs.
Musicology and 3121 are two of his best albums.

I know I'm quite alone on this, that's why I considered a 'controversial opinion'.
Despite some wrong choices for singles (an usual thing for Prince) the album was huge in Europe and not so much in the USA.
I think there are 'American-oriented' and 'European-oriented' tours. Not that I think that the Purple Rain Tour wouldn't have been successful had it reached Europe, but I see it as an 'ultra-american phenomenon'. Same for the 96, 97, 99, 2000 and 2001 tours.
Most average americans were disappointed with ATWIAD, they would have really wanted a real Purple Rain-2 (and 3, and 4...). They're more into the 'show' aspect of a tour than into the 'art'.
It's more of a personal hunch than of an empirically demonstrable fact. I just 'think' the SOTT tour wouldn't have been huge in the USA and that might've somewhat killed the magic of the era.
I also think that the Parade tour was more oriented towards Europe and Japan than towards home.

You really think Adore was that bad huh? I thought it was great, Prince had "sould" out to become huge with Purple Rain, I liked how he got closer and closer back to his R&B roots, ATWIAD, Parade and Sott all were funky albums at heart, nevermind the strings and horns. Most of all, I never thought Prince had a pure soul falsetto, he sounded more like Barry Gibb than Eddie Kendricks but his falsetto was getting better and better here. The falsetto from the first three albums can't compare to how good it'd had gotten by this point.

It seems like, if each member of the Org was allowed to delete one song from Prince's catalog, we would end up with absolutely nothing. I wonder if there is any song that Prince has written that ALL of his fans agree is brilliant. Of course there wouldn't be any songs left. Everybody has different preferences and opinions. Besides, if all P fans loved 1 song wholeheartedly, it would get annoying very quickly. time flies.
