Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum-Cleveland OH

On tonight's episode of American Idol, the theme was Rock & Roll. During the quick tour, they showed the Prince exhibit. I decided I would add this site to my Memory Journey. Has amyone seen this up close?

"Prince arrived on the scene in the late Seventies, and it didn’t take long for him to upend the music world with his startling music and arresting demeanor. He rewrote the rulebook, forging a synthesis of black funk and white rock that served as a blueprint for cutting-edge music in the Eighties. Prince made dance music that rocked and rock music that had a bristling, funky backbone. From the beginning Prince and his music were androgynous, sly, sexy and provocative. His colorful image and revolutionary music made Prince a figure comparable in paradigm-shifting impact to Little Richard, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix and George Clinton. ..."

I have, it's awesome. But I was there in 1998, so I haven't seen any Prince stuff.

This was the "new inductee" display from 2004. 6 of the records are mine. When I heard Prince was being inducted I e-mailed the HOF offering to lend some things. They jumped on the chance and told me Prince was not being helpful with the display. Something about the CEO of the Hall being involved with Warner Brothers records or something (been a long time, don't remember exactly). This display has been down for many years now. The only thing that was already there was the jacket. There were also some magazine covers of him near the bottom, not seen in this picture. If I remember, the guitar was leant by another orger. They gave me an MVP tour of the Hall in return and free admission to the Induction ceremony. It was awesome! I have been to the HOF many times! (the other stuff belongs to George Harrison, also inducted in 2004)

Are u serious? Prince really needs to "letitgo". This exhibit is to honor his musical legacy and he didn't want to contribute items because of someone affiliation with his former record label. Really, Prince?

He should be thankful to have fans that care enough to share from their collection.

Out of curiousity, is there any other inductee that has chose not to contribute as well?
