JOy In Repetition

I love this song so much....the guitar solo at the end is mixed in the back, so it's not as noticable at first..but, it's another epic guitar solo....beautiful!!!

great song. I personally think this should have been on sign, replacing a song like "it". the giutar solo is indeed amazing

he should play this live more often

It's probably one of my top 10 favorite songs of all-time. It's perfect, the guitar (not just the solo but the jazzy fills throughout), the lyrics, the emotion conveyed in the vocals (I love the harmony in the background vocals too), the atmospherics, the tension the music creates before it erupts at the end...perfect!

OMG...I can't even imagine... it's so beautiful!!!! I would die and go to HEAVEN if I could see (hear) this song, this guitar solo, LIVE!!!

Does this part of "Joy in Repetition" remind anyone else of Mos Def's "My Umi Says"?

"These 2 words, a little bit behind the beat.
I mean just enough 2 turn u on.
4 everytime she said the words another one of his doubts were gone."

Cuz it was the first thing that popped into my mind when I heard it....

What box set is this in?

I first heard this son on an outtakes album (yes, album) called Chocolate Box before it was later released. This is THE song that made me a true Prince fanatic. For all you house music heads, the remix by DJ Timmy Regisford called "The Shelter Mix" is worth checking out.

Yeah, I never understood why the intro was taken off... the song loses a lot without the buildup at the start. I always found it jarring to just be dumped halfway into this song. I love this song. Wish the beginning of it was available somewhere in good quality, my splices always have this very audible edit point.

The intro doesn't make the song better or worse, in my opinion.
