I'm kinda interested in Tamar's CD actually, I always thought she got stiffed by her association with Prince.

"stiffed" lol Sure she did wink

Not his fault though. At least she's doing something with herself.

Hmmm, I should qualify - I meant with regards to the album not getting a proper release.

I know she got a raised profile through their association.

I'd have to say that the fact that the poster mentions that Richard Chycki was "behind the SSL (console)..." is perhaps indicative that this may be true.

When people post falsities, generally speaking, they aren't even remotely aware of SSLs or Nieves, or nearly anything specific in the audio world.

Just sayin'...

well, the 25 minute “Extra Loveable” that was mentioned earlier would sound great a "rock hard" version.

ahhh, the promise of a new Prince album. I hear this one is going back to his Dirty Mind roots... or it is the best he's done since SOTT. I've also heard that this is that rock album that we've all wanted. Oh wait, this is that pure funk album that he has the potential to create. I've heard there are a few tracks from the 80s with The Revolution on it. I've heard it is a double album that flows. The rumor is that it has a story to it, but it doesn't overpower the album like some of his others with stories. This has a ballad that is as good as Gold or Purple Rain from what I understand. He supposedly is using the Linn drum again from the word on the street. The title track is going to blow you away is what I've heard. Michael B. is supposedly on 2 tracks and he brings it! The cover of this is so different from other CDs. Prince really connects with this material and he lets out his emotions in several of the tracks... or so I've heard. I know this one is going to sell (unlike his albums for the last few years). He is supposedly doing an interview with MTV and ROLLING STONE to promote this album.

What other rumors have you heard or made up?

The bottom line is that Prince will eventually come out with an album that will excite some, disappoint others and eventually he will walk away from it before it has been properly promoted because he has ADD when it comes to follow through in recent years.

If he didn't follow through on his plans for EMANCIPATION (3 year plan with many single releases and a long non-stop tour, etc.) which was supposedly the album 'he was born to make'... what makes you think that this one is going to be different?

Remember, he has been 'free' almost as long as he was at WB... hows that track record coming along? Looking forward to a greatest hits album... oh wait, it is a greatest hits EP.

The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

i'm excited. call me naive, but i believe it. i mean the dudes track record is such where we KNOW he's up to SOMETHING. the Rush "soundguy" mention reeks of credibility to me. (Rush; talk about complex sonic landscapes, eek) but Natasha, i'm curious; will this be Lolita x Fury = Natasha. The fact that he didn't release 20Ten in the states causes me to further believe he wants to give his stateside fans some new material.

blah!, there's always a new album round the corner and it always 'rocks hard' , funks hard [lol - remember that the pile of crap that was MPLS Sound was supposed to be Controversy part 2!!!!]. Come on , the next CD will have 3 good songs tops, be riddled with lazy / predictable production and sounds and of course have the usual mix of prince lite done in a variety of styles to emphasise how amazingly diverse he's supposed to be.

Personally my feelings are that if P has lost the interest / ability to be bothered about putting out top draw quality music/art then why should I waste valuable energy waiting. There is just too much good, new music out there [not top 40 crap] to fulfill my needs.

Since 1978 there were no albums released in

1983

So why isn't it true to suggest there was an album almost every year?

I took it as:

"Not true"

"Almost true"

"Also, not true" - ie. "Almost true" also means not true, by definition.

Valuable comma in there wink

Thank you. Unfortunately the definition of proper punctuation and grammar obviously differ for some people.

Not to mention I was replying to the statement in this post:

but seen in black/white, 'almost true' is indeed 'not true' smile

On the other hand, the time between two subsequent released albums in two different years can be greater then when there is a year in between without a relaese.

Example:

1). release A: january 2008, release B: november 2009 --- 21 months in between.

2). release A: november 2007, no relaese in 2008, release B: january 2009 --- 13 months in between.

Just saying years with/without releases don't mean very much.

Well, Prince is always working on new projects. But I agree with Giovanni - the mention of a specific engineer does give the rumor some credence. It's too specific for someone to just pull it out of thin air. I imagine we'll hear some more information fairly soon.

I'll see what I can find out. I'm a little unenthused about sharing any information TBH, given the backlash from last time. But if I do hear anything interesting I will let you know.
