Probably 20 odd times. I was always more interested in the PR double live video than the movie.

Probably about 10 times...low number but considering I saw it for the first time last year and I wasn't alive in the 80s to see it then I guess it makes sense. First concert: January 18, 2011 & then February 7, 2011 at MSG. Best concerts of my life.

despite the terrible acting, horrible kissing and love making scenes, this movie is great. The music is perfect, there are alot of cool characters in it, and there both great lines, remorable scenes and visually it's a great looking movie. Seen it probably about 5 times.

Maybe 4 times. I have it but I don't watch it over and over again. "Free URself, B the best that U can B, 3rd Apartment from the Sun, nothing left to fear" Prince Rogers Nelson - Forever in my Life -

I am being honest about only seeing it about 7 times.
And, actually quite charitable too. I think the real number is maybe 4 times or so.
And I only watched it with friends (Prince used to be big back in the day) because everyone wanted to see the scenes with Appolonia's tits.
It really is quite a bad movie, saved mainly by great music and performances. You're a real fucker. You act like you own this place--ParanoidAndroid <-- about as witty as this princess gets! I hope everyone pays more attention to Sags posts--sweething Jesus weeps

I've actually seen SOTT at least 15 or 20 times. THAT movie, I used to love!
...but I actually thought it was a live musical performance (minus U've Got the Look) up until just a few years ago. ....I've lost interest in it since.

Let's see, 2-3 times a week as a little girl, slacked off some as a teen, caught back up since I've been an adult, so in the last 23 years of loving the movie...AT LEAST 1,500. It's one of my fave. Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

Probably 30-40 times but most of the viewings were back in the 80's. I have probably watched it 2 or 3 times in the past 15 years. Stand Up! Everybody, this is your life!

Maybe 25-30.
For quite a while I just had the VHS and didn't have the album. So if I wanted to listen to those songs I had to put on the movie. I fast forwarded to the songs most of the time though. I never thought the movie itself was that good, not even as a 13-14-year-old.
I don't think I'm going to watch it again anytime too soon.

I've watched the Purple Rain the movie so many times that I cannot give a definite number. I had it on VHS (still have it but no longer have a VCR) and I purchased it on DVD a few years ago and I've watched it countless times. I enjoy watching it...along with UTCM (another movie I've watched countless times). Now Graffiti Bridge I've seen twice. The first time I was like ok. The second time (last year) was to make sure that I didn't overlook a rather decent movie. Needless to say I haven't watched it since. Many... many times....
Got to say, the first time I saw it was opening week in the theatre in 84. When I saw "When Doves Cry" on MTV, I was intrigued and had to check out the movie.. After the Beautiful Ones performance in the movie, I was hooked. I saw the movie, before picking up the album. Blew me away.
I don't understand the folks who say only saw it one time. My reaction is what are you doing here? Maybe its different if you started listening to Prince at a later stage in the career. Back in 84, that was some groundbreaking stuff. That was the start of the Prince progression.
After grabbing that album and seeing the movie, man, I ran out and grabbed every prior album. That was enough to keep me until Around The World In A Day. The progression of the music was so constant from For You until Purple Rain. He hooked you and then gave you Around The World. Around the Word is where the stage was set. You were either completely blown away, and got on board or you got off. I remember thinking that I had discovered something extraordinary, and I felt unique that I could see it and many couldn't. Called that one... cracknbush

Could watch it over and over, but I refrain from doing so because I don't want it to get "old" to me, you know?
But let's see, I think about prolly 10 times at most, probably not even that though Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!!

Now THAT is a movie I love, and I still like it since I found out it's not live. My favorite "concert" DVD of all time, but I still haven't watched it that often. Probably about 5 times, but that's got to do with me being a fan for only two years and the fact I can't sit down for a concert DVD. Even if the concert is great, I get bored really quick with just watching at a screen without the concert experience. And you can't do something else, because the DVD would only distract you from whatever you're doing besides it. The only time I actually watch concert DVDs is when I work out, and I don't do that often either. And then there are all those other DVDs I wanna watch too instead of a DVD I already know.
Life's a bitch... You mean you're gonna actually hear what we play tonight? You're not gonna make up the notes in your mind?
