Can we expect another Cross-over from Prince ?

Definition, Cross-over: "music that has commercial success with audiences beyond that of its particular genre" (Wikipedia)

Am I dreaming about another PR "part II" - asking for another Cross-over from Prince..?! eek

What do you think, biggrin

is Prince able to do it again, can he make another purple album that unites people, and combines different genres from pop to rock and funk?

I am in doubt, Prince's music has become very different from back then in 1984, not so energetic anymore. It's a bit more sterile now, a bit more formula right ?

what are the chances, in your opinion, to see another Cross-over hit from Prince.... ?

I still say The One U Wanna C is a perfect song for the NASCAR set. shrug

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Rhyging

Despite the music orientation I can't see a hit album happening without a heavy major label promotion. As for now, I think the indipendent way fits him better.

Even if you bothered pasting a definition of crossover in case some of us were ignorant, I'm afraid NouveauDance is right: you're misusing the term.

Prince has already crossed over anything he could or wanted to.

He doesn't need 'another crossover'. He just needs to release good albums like he did in the past.

I hope, but only if by cross-over you mean from the cut-out bin to the New Releases. Tired of seein' homeboy's albums in the trash.
