Remember an Interview Little Richard Gave? Where he said that Prince should not put out so much music, that " a little bit of something is a lot better than a whole lot of nothing"..??
He also said that he thinks Prince should slow down... this was several years ago, but do you think that back in the day when Prince was working so much and releasing so much that he blew his stuff?? Do you think that a long time, maybe a year or two away from everything he is doing now would be a great thing for Prince to do to get back to the creative well that many fans think has run dry?
Would Prince have been better off not releasing Musicology, 3121, etc... with a couple of hits off of each album and instead keep those good songs with potential and tinker with them and place them on one kick ass record? What say you? Positive or Negative comments welcome... I won't argue back

I do remember that Little Richard quote, and i have to say that i agree with it. I'm all for Prince having gaps of a year or more in between albums, especially now. I think he needs to take stock, go away and be inspired, write a bunch of songs that he is going to be proud of, and the go out and play them live. I'm glad we have Prince, and despite not liking that much of his 2000's output, i'm glad we have it, i appreciate the fact that he is still doing IT, and i'm not going to say that such and such an album should not have been released etc, they are there and that's all there is to it. But yes, a couple of years off would (hopefully) do him and his music the world of good. It might make some of us want it more.

Maybe if he and Misty took a vacation in Lavaux for a little while, he could be inspired by her. I have been listening to a lot of revelations: 2.1 and a lot of the old music and rehearsals sounds like he is having so much fun! Not so serious... perhaps if he didn't have as much preaching or political stuff on his records they would be better... I don't know.... maybe??

IF you are talking about cutting "down" the albums 2004-2007:
imo: I like Musicology - the first half is great (minus Life O The Party ) I can live without the whole 3121 !! Planet Earth have 1 really great track, Future Baby Mama.
- but do we agree on this, on which tracks are good or bad..... ? [Edited 3/4/11 9:18am] Prince 4Ever.

The only thing wrong with that reasoning is which songs should left off the albums! The songs I pick will not be the same as alot of the songs ppl on the org will pick. I think P is doing just fine & thanks 4 askin! hmmm!!!!!

Albums he should have not released (not counting contract filler albums like Come and Chaos and Disorder):
New Power Soul Rave Un2/In2
Albums that should have been cut down:
The Rainbow Children (cut out that darth vader nonsense) 3121 (Beautiful Loved And Blessed should have been on that unreleased Tamar album, not this) Planet Earth (should have been an EP) 20TEN (should have been an EP)
