Okay, now that I have seen both pics... it looks like the angle of the pictures. The ones above are taken from his left side. Even on the NAACP pics the left side of his head, the hair is shorter. And I can believe that there was shrinkage that explains the shortness and even seeing scalp on the pics above. His hair straightened and then combed in such a way to cover the thinner parts is possible. It is the right side of the head that really has a difference. I'm going to say that in the above pics, once again his hair is not straightened and it is sort of combed back. Look at the top pic.... it looks like the hair was combed back and "patted down" in place. The NAACP pics, the hair looks straightened and then combed up and hair sprayed to stay in the up position.
I think he went to above pics without any help from professional hair dresser, and in the NAACP his hair was done by pro.
If he did add anything... it would be a clip or track of hair on the right side that stands up straight on pics taken last night. "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack

True, they've always showed him respect when he attends or makes an appearance at that show. He definitely received a very, warm reception from the audience last night.

Thanks for providing the clips. I'm definitely going to see this movie when it comes out. Looks like an Oscar-worthy performance for Halle.

Oscar worthy? Seriously? You're all ready to call that, flat out. Even though neither of you have seen Halle's entire performance yet?
Well......for Halle's sake. Here's to hoping she and Prince don't have any sort of falling out before the NEXT...Academy Award Nominees are announced.

I tend to think that sometimes Oscar nomination are more for the ROLE rather than the PERFORMANCE. In other words unless you are very very bad actor, you will get a nod because it is a great role, well written etc.
Like Rainman... how could Dustin Hoffman NOT get an Oscar nod?
Sometimes it IS the performance because the part is mediocre.... you can only think it was the performance that made it stand out. Cuba Gooding Jr. is an example.
I think this role that Halle wrote was written in Oscar worthy fashion. And it is based on a true story. "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack

I believe this movie had a limited release date back in December to qualify for the past Oscars. Halle had a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in this film.

If...the person we ironically, just so happen to be talking about had not WON an Oscar for the ROLE she portrayed in "Monster's Ball". I could quite possibly agree with your point.
Unfortunately, I think Halle's role sucked as did her performance and her getting an Oscar for it...as well as Denzel getting an Oscar for his role and performance in "Training Day" that same year...were insults!
Be that as it is...I do think Halle's role in "Frankie and Alice" is a good one and from what I've seen so far...I think she does well with it, performance wise. However, I'll actually need to see the movie BEFORE I can even begin to fathom any Oscar worthiness.
I just found the ability of others to suddenly flat out determine her Oscar worthiness without having seen the actual movie...rather interesting. I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Prince looks amazing! Love the audience noise during his entire appearance...the noise caused by a true star entering stage...any stage! And Light Blue has always been my favorite smell...

I screamed too when he came out because it is always a surprise when he shows up like that. I was hoping Halle would be the one to come up and get her award from him. A while back I made up a tread asking if the two have met. Whoop there it is and I'm happy. [Edited 3/5/11 13:18pm]

yeah they had the same reaction when he last made that surprise appearance in "07". and that was after that fabulous Superbowl halftime show.

I had the privilege to watch this movie prior to release and it's great. At first I couldn't decide which personality I enjoyed her acting the best - her performance for the white racist older woman is superb; however, her performance as Frankie is just as great --- the little girl is good too. A definite must see for Halle fans and just in general.

I''ve seen enough of the clips to draw my interest to go see it, and from what I've seen so far, I can tell her performance will be more than I expect. No worry. [Edited 3/5/11 14:59pm]

I saw the promo copy and Halle is really good in the role. I felt the movie could have fleshed out the woman's story a little better than iwas done in the film.

Hi Hatrina, Not everyone will agree, view things the same way or follow what everyone else thinks. It's okay that you don't agree with my point of view on this, as well as others who stated the same, that Halle's performance in the film may/is "oscar-worthy". However, I've seen a few snippets of the film, besides the ones posted here, and in my "individual" opinion, I can see the way Halle is playing this role as "oscar-worthy". When I saw the coming attractions of Monique in the film she won an oscar for last year, before I actually saw the movie, I felt and thought the same thing about her character's role. But it's cool, it's all good, and I respect your opininon, even if you don't agree with some of us on here about it. [Edited 3/5/11 18:14pm]
