From Dr Funkenberry: Prince Is “Extra Loveable” But Where Will He Play Next?

Hmm. Prince is “Extra Loveable”…and we know that you know that. So is the doc as well.

We can only guess PRINCE is not worried about new lawsuit claims. (What? Didn’t think WE would mention it? tsk. He is not worried bout, we ain’t worried bout it.)

Perhaps he is on a high with Misty Copeland being his “date” to Elton John’s Oscar party…..that we did not even hear if Prince even had an Oscar party…..shoot, we would be on a high too. A girl the doc dated in high school was a former ballerina n she was quite bendy. Ahem. ‘Scuse me…..

Wherever PRINCE plays next, make your way there!!!!!

We just got word that he got a 25 minute live version of the bootleg classic “EXTRA LOVEABLE” that he is about to unleash. What do you know about that PURPLE FUNK?????

(I know I would love to hear a sample of that 25 minutes, PRINCE. Ahem. Just putting it out there…..)

With PRINCE bringing out jams like “Extra Loveable” the party is going to go on for days ya’ll!!!!!!!

BTW, do we still have permission to tweet during a show that has “Extra Loveable” in it?-Dr.FB

OMG!!, has this purple funk juice only just fermented. Lets crack it open ASAP and drink it down in 1 !!

Now if we could just get some of the other classics from that period popped open then there truly would be a purple party. How about a 4 track EP?

Hmmm, so if we did our own cover versions of unreleased trax maybe P will keep getting his old swagger and compeitive edge back and release his own original version to 'take it back' so to speak.

This is the best news I have heard in ages. Just when I thought I couldn't love Prince any more than I already do.

Mr. Nelson - you are the man and don't let ANYONE ever tell you otherwise!

baby don't stop the groove, extra loveable people tell yo' body what to do....

I hope he cuts the "I'm just gonna have to rape you" part of the song. That section was disturbing.

He probably saw that "Extraloveable" cover vid with the girl that's circulating, and decided to take his song back lol .

nod Given that it's a live version, it's probably not in it. Often he leaves out even entire verses and just jams - it might even be a recent live version (wasn't there a private afterparty in NYC where he played very unexpected tracks?) in which case, it definitely won't be in it.

I don't believe a word. And if it's true, most probably we won't hear it. And if it's true and we are allowed to hear it, it'll be a mountain of crap like his reworking of In a large room with no light.

So, I can't be excited at all. Just more bullshit from Prince and the Doc.

I think this is a song that wouldn´t really work if he released only a long rehearsal jam of it because the song´s lyrics contribute a lot to its greatness.

What private party do you mean, and what unexpected songs did he play there?

I doubt this little bit of info and it´s sad that other people have to release a tight remake for Prince to finally wake up and smell the coffee. Dude´s been sleeping on this song for more than two decades. Everytime Prince brags about something, the end result often leaves me cold. When he comes up with some unexpected and great stuff, then that´s usually what leaves a lasting impression. I´m a bit tired of his bragging and boasting about things he wants to release, or having "too many hits", or teasing the audiences with snippets of his popular songs from a sampler, or teasing fans with revamped but tame versions of songs we´ve grown accustomed to over the years, only to see that what we´ve been waiting for is subpar.

I think if Prince were more in touch with certain people here in this forum, he´d be much more popular, more successful and have more money plus his legacy would be in the state it deserves to be, i.e. nice album artwork, properly archived material, good selection of songs etc.etc. but I digress.

Hope this thing turns out to be true...we´ll wait and see.

I wouldn't expect it to be a vintage live version, it's almost definately going to be from now. I'd be surprised if it was the full 25 mins too.

I'd love to be proved wrong on both counts though. Let's see if it happens at all though, until it's out, there's no telling what can happen.

Well, that would just be silly. It won't go down like that. Instead, the song will be given to some radio station in L.A., who will play it exactly once and fans will have to search frantically to find a bad-quality download that has deejays and call letters all over it.

Duh.

Winning.

What private party do you mean, and what unexpected songs did he play there?

Not a rehearsal jam, but not necessarily the full lyrics either.

I was thinking of a couple of the recent W2A afterparties in NYC - one was a VIP only party, the other let fans in after a while but the cover price was $200.

The unexpected tracks I meant were Cloreen Baconskin and Purple Music one night (with Questlove on the drums, apparently a really long jam) and Endorphinmachine the other night.

I was thinking there were more, but nothing terribly exciting I guess, depending on your viewpoint (http://www.princevault.co...r,_2010-am and http://www.princevault.co...y,_2011-am) Those setlists sort of quash my theory though, as extraloveable isn't on any of them!

Wonder where the live recording comes from then?

Personally, I find it rather interesting, that whenever there really appears to be cause to question something fishy going on in Princeville.

There somehow like clockwork, miraculously pops up something or in most cases like this one...just the "hint" of something...miraculously popping up. That's just ever so enticing enough to deflect attention...away from the stench. hmmm

Great stuff but truth is, it's a "believe it when I see it" kind of thing so as to not get my hopes up too high. Hopefully, he sing the song and jam on it not just do a verse and jam endlessly. Whatever the case, if it comes out, awesome but if it doesn't oh well. I'm cool either way but we'll see what happens.

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that
