Michael B is my fave drummer ever, but sometimes I think Blackwell is better for Prince. But, in terms of rhythm section, Michael + Sonny are real great together.

Detroit

I gotta go Old School:

1. Andre Cymone - Bass

2. Dez Dickerson - Guitar

3. Keyboards - Lisa and Dr. Fink

4. Drums - Sheila E.

He's had a lot of great musicians in his bands but there's something about the old concerts.

So many greats, so little spaces but...

Prince_ whatever

Drums- John Blackwell,Michael B

Bass: Rhonda Smith/ Sonny T

Percussion- Sheila E

Keys: Renato Neto,Dr. Fink & Mr. Hayes

Horns: MaceoParker, Mike Phillips, GregBoyer

Guitar: Miko Weaver Mike Scott and Levi Seacer

Harmonica-Jimmy

DJ- Rashida, Dougie Fresh

Prince could turn his stage into a P- Funk or James Brown concert with double drummers, multiple guitarists and still have it dead on it!! This was hard CAUSE SENTIMENTAL MEMBERS FROM THE rEVOLUTION AND lOVESEXY BANDS AMONGST OTHERS HAD TO BE LEFT OFF TO MAKE SENSE.

What is the purpose of having DJ Rashida or Dougie Fresh in Prince's band? They never added anything to Prince's music. Did Rashida even tour with him for very long? She's a DJ and that's not what real music for real music lovers is about.

Some of yall trip me out with these lineups including obscure old band members who just stood around and added nothing to the flavor. Kat Dyson is another one of those types that get mentioned for some reason. Who the hell wants Kat Dyson in the band and why?? lol.

And why Greg Boyer or Mike Phillips?? What have they done to really add to the Prince sound? What did they do that artists like Atlanta Bliss, the NPG Hornz/Hornheadz, and/or Eric Leeds did not do? On top of the fact that most of these obscure peeps never even appeared on a Prince record.

Yeah, I agree. I was a kid when I first saw Prince live (Brown Mark in place of Andre, Bobby on drums), so that did leave a long lasting impression. I was in a daze the whole time... lol

Lol!! I would assume her vocals would sound "angelic" these days, wouldn't you?? lol

I also question the addition of Najee. Really? Najee?? Give me a fuckin' break. If this is their "dream lineup", they need to wake up, go back to sleep, and start all over again.

Jerome, if there absolutely HAD to be one, should be the only dancer there. Maybe Cat too, if she's really going to bring it! No backing vocals are needed because the band can do their own vocals. They're more than capable.
