Exodus album

headbang music

seriously... this is THE funk right here...

The Exodus has begun!!

What do you guys think about this album and that era, arguably Prince's most creative and productive era. Gold Experience, Come, Exodus, Chaos and Disorder, all those outakes...

The good ol' days of the NPG!

My favourite era. I love the Exodus album and out-takes. Long jams like Big Fun, Exodus Has Begun, The Good Life are still fresh n cool today IMO.

I like this era a lot, and it gave us some very interesting outtakes.

The full unreleased versions of The Exodus Has Begun and the unreleased long version of Hallucination Rain are great.

Not sure if the realeased configuration was the best, though.

If you like Exodus then you need this. Alternate versions and unreleased tracks from earlier configurations of the Exodus album.

This includes the very nice 11min version of Hallucination Rain.

Had he sung the lead vocals himself it could have been the Prince / prince album of the 90's that most successfully captured the vibe of that era. It's good with the Sonny T. vocals too, but perhaps feels just a bit too forced as most would expect Prince / prince voice to be doing those parts.

The segues were pretty unnecessary, but I always found "Mashpotato Girl" to be pretty funny.

I always dug the cover art as well.

Me too, it's very Funkadelic "Maggot Brain," which is no bad thing.

I agree about the segues, whenever i play this i always program most of them out, i can't be bothered with all that pseudo macho gangster shit.

Other than that, top album.

Goldnigga is ok but this album I love. '93-'96 was a great era for Prince, hopefully more music from that time will be released.

I kind of like the segues.
