Misty? Yes Shelbey. Is the water warm enough? Yes Shelbey. Shal we begin? Yes Shelbey.
yeah, no. I love the song, wish he'd perform it. But I have no need to see Misty dance to it. In fact, the dancers and background singers really need to go.

Please Prince, PLEASE bring back this song. What made you decide to shelve it in the first place? You mean you're gonna actually hear what we play tonight? You're not gonna make up the notes in your mind?

I consider this song an instrumental....and a badass one at that. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

1987: he felt "It's Gonna Be A Long Boring Night," was better, so he played that instead.
1988: he felt "Glam Slam" was better
1990: he felt "What Have You Done for Me Lately" was better.
1991: he felt "Jughead," "Daddy Pop," and anything involving Tony M was much better.
2004: he even felt "Dr Mr Man" was better.
He may have played "Computer Blue" twice since 1985...once in Stuggart in 1998 or so, and maybe one other time. I heard him soundcheck it instrumental in Las Vegas on Jan 1, 1999...but when it comes to bad decisions, Prince is full of them. He's still the greatest ever, but if he had U2's sense, all those great songs would not be in the valut, and all those songs you want to hear live would show up in the set lists every now and then. But no, he's the nutjob he is.

Yes, he played it in Stuttgart in 1998, albeit only briefly (and mixed in some "Are You Gonna Go My Way?" ). You know, being who he is today, with the dancers, background singers, the current band and current sound and whatnot, I´d rather NOT see him play Computer Blue these days.
I loved what he did with Something In The Water during the ONA tour, actually I love all the different incarnations of Something In The Water over the years, all versions have their unique, special aura and flavor but when it comes to Computer Blue, I´d rather not see him mess with one of his best songs ever. It´s the only song that should not be changed in any way. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I would love to hear Computer Blue played properly...which he could do...but won't.
Well, if nothing else, the ONA tour proved that when Prince wants to, he can do an old song justice. The versions of Anna Stesia were the highlight for me, even though he didn't play it at the Celebration, and I think he dropped it for the Europe/Asia tour. I'm still holding out hope that Prince will get rid of the dancers, most of the background singers, and really focus on the music, but it all comes down to Prince wanting people to look at his hair and idol worship him. If it was really all about the music with him, I would not be posting here.

why not? Isnt his music the primary reason why we are his fans?

It is all about the music for me. For Prince, it is all about how he looks at certain times. Or all about the money. The sad thing, is if he was really trying to make money, he would have a proper tour with tickets going on sale far in advance. He would never take part in the career self-sabotage he has taken part in on so many decisions.
