If you could pick just one of Prince's songs as your all time favorite, what would it be and why? After a lot of listening and thought, for me, it would have to be "Days of Wild." To me, there is no better song that gives a sense of what Prince was all about at his most shining time...the sound, the lyrics, the call and response that fit a certain period of time--the warning to "hang on to your wigs..." LOL What a terrific song! Although I love so many others, this, to me, signifies the essense of Prince at his best. Coming in second, by a hair, is "Annastecia." What a spiritual ride that song is! What is your favorite song?

Yes, that is such an outstanding song--right up there on my list. And then when I heard him sing it live recently with the beautiful ballerina swirling around him...just magical! A memory for a lifetime!

One of his most genius works is The Beautiful One's. I agree with Lisa from the 20th Anniversary DVD that, the first time she heard that song, she could feel the genius inside of Prince coming out. So that is definitely one of my favorites due to how genius it is. It's one of those songs that I hear and go, "Damn, I wish I'd have written that one!" (I AM a songwriter.)

But my personal favorite one of all time would have to be Scandalous. That's another genius effort on Prince's part -- and I won't lie to you, it makes a hell of a panty dropper!

I can't choose just one, but The Beautiful Ones is definitely up there. When I first heard his desperate cries, I got goosebumps, and I still do. That's when I knew that he was a genius.

As impossible as this is... Electric Intercourse has to take the top reign. I mean, that song is just amazing, everything about it. I put it on repeat and just love it more and more everytime I hear it. I so want to see Prince do this song live, just once. I would lose it!!

I totaly agree with you !! Not many have just that song for favourite, it's an amazing song that blows my mind everytime.

And to hear this live (another then the 1st Avenue gig) would be......I would loose it too

It never fails. Whenever I meet women, and tell them I am a Prince fanatic, they always tell me they love Adore, or Diamonds And Pearls. I like Adore a lot better than DAP, but it never got higher than my 13th favorite on SOTT. It is ahead of It, maybe Hot Thing, and It's Going to be a long boring Night. Of course being 13th best on SOTT is good enough to be the best song on damb near anybody else's album.
