^Well, the album has such great songs that it's indeed difficult that it can be the best of them all, but I absolutely love it and that puts us both in the minority.

I think it's one of the best ballads Prince ever did (I don't care about lyrics). The drumming and the horns are outta this world.

But everybody seems to prefer the boring, standard, not-at-all-special 'Adore'.

Yes indeed.

Settle down.

I agree with the both of you. Slow Love is a great ballad, and I don't understand either why people don't like it.

I happen to like Adore very much as well, and don't see a contradiction in this.

^Not a contradiction.

It's just that I can't understand all the praise for Adore. Good ballad, but boring as hell.

At the same time I can't understand all the indiference or even hate towards Slow Love.

I think slow love is boring as hell i think adore is much stronger lyrically thats why i'd pick adore over slow love.

^^I can't help thinking that The Cross is one of the poorest songs Prince ever made.

Just two chords (and nothing special about those 2 chords) which go from the boring-dreamy to a hard rock orgy which is totally out of place.

And as an atheist, the lyrics just make me wanna throw up.

Adore is an average soul ballad that MANY people other than Prince could've done (and even bettered).

Play in the sunshine is not terrible, but what saddens me is that in this era Prince had dozens of much better songs than that one.

I totally agree about the cross im an athiest too and lyrically it makes me wanna hurl too. Play in the sunshine is ok but the movie version rules, i think the versions of all the songs on the sott movie totally kill the album versions thats one reason imo sott the album is crap he has awesome well written songs on it but its mixed so badly on cd its a shame

The live version of Slow love is easily a top point in Prince's career neutral

It's the song on the album that I like the most. It's a really fun track with a lot of great musicianship on it.

I also think it's his best track in that style (other tracks it could be compared to are "Baby, I'm A Star", "Get On Up", "You Gotta Shake Something", "Le Grind", "Cindy C", "Superfunkycalifragisexy", "Eye No", "Push", "Get Yo Groove On", "We Gets Up", "Push It Up", "The Everlasting Now", "Get On The Boat" etc.).

It's not my favorite, but it's definitely one of my top tracks... love it. So creative and funky. Really cool that he took a live backing track and built a song on top of it. Really part of what makes SOTT so unique.

Sign O The Times, If I Was Your Girlfriend, or I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man.

Those are probably my top three on the album, even though the whole album is completely magical.

No best tracks as they are all outstanding but The Cross is possibly at the bottom. It hasn't aged well for me. Lyrically SotT has also aged drastically. Violence and drug use has changed. As has many people's perception of Aids in some ways.

I'm more wary of general teenage ASBO (UK wankers) behaviour, Chinese legal-highs and colds smile

My favorite three songs "IT" "HOT THING" and "ADORE" "FOREVER in MY LIFE" I loved the live version from the movie..I'm forgetting did he perform ADORE in the movie...I had it on VHS I can't remember:-o

Eventhough it was in the movie but not on the album the jam session when it Forever in my life After.

And how can people not like It? One of his most impassioned songs with lyrics I can truly empathise with. Some of you are just plain bizarre.

neutral eek

The Cross is a very powerful song, but each to their own. I'm not trying to change your opinion.

Just one question: Since that you're an atheist do you hate the LoveSexy album and/or anytime Prince writes a religious song? Personally, I do not care about lyrics of a song unless they are shockeningly bad or they offend me and I don't find The Rainbow Children offensive, I just don't agree with what he's talking about.

Well, lines like 'God is Love, Love is God' or 'There will be peace for those who love god a lot' are kinda 'ofensive' to me in the sense that I can't conceive anybody (and even less my favourite musician) can sing that crap, but since English is not my mother tongue, I try to 'not understand' as much as I can.

I dislike his religious diarrhoea as much as his ultra-explicit sex stupidities. Neither of those themes are worthy of being song lyrics.

"Play in the Sunshine" is my favorite. But the best are probably "Adore" or "Ballad of Dorothy Parker".

"Strange Relationship" is still annoying to listen to IMO.
