Do Anything had some kind of connection with Ingrid Chavez as I recall

I still think Groove Eternal and Dance To The Music by Boosty Collins has some kind of contribution from Prince. The singer is The One, but the lyrics and vocal phrasing has a real Prince feel to them, not to mention the songs quote directly from Prince "Body don't want to quit, got have another hit".

Unfortunately......OH Sheila. I don't have the slightest idea of the band's name, I just know I made a fool of myself arguing with people about how this was written by Prince for Sheila E.

I'm showing my age, but whenever I heard any song by Sylvester back in the day, I thought he and Prince were the same person.

I've never had a moment like that.

I think it was Niki Harris who was on that track, but interestingly Natural Selection were from Minneapolis!

The vocals on these 2 Bootsy trax sound the most convincing. I play these often & am still undecided whether it`s him or not no matter what others may say. I know this has been debated many times however.

The last time I heard a song that I thought was Prince was a year or so ago when the Jadore commercial came out. Something about the vocals, music, tempo, and visuals had me wondering for a bit if maybe it was him. I read the comments and was relieved to know I wasn't totally alone...

Sounds more like Prince on the television.

Yeah, "Oh Shiela" was one and anyone that says they didn't think that was a Prince song is not being 100% honest.

I remember driving down the road and we popped in Janet Jackson's "Decade" album. I didn't know her songs but after hearing the first five or six, I told my wife, "Either Prince wrote these, produced these, or had something to do with them". I was not surprised to find that Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis produced and wrote them.

Finally, when I first heard "The Game of Love" by Michelle Branch/Santana, I was pretty sure there was some Prince influence in it. Turns out it was the other way around - Prince was heavily into Santana at the time, and that's why I thought the solo sounded like Prince.

It was on the radio in Holland when I woke up and I thought it was the best new shit from the last several months. But when I did researched, I found out it was from 1985 The Good Old Days

Ready For The World - what a rip-off - even the dancing and the way the singer looks at the camera! Blatant copying, i'm surprised P didn't sue them!!!

As for Natural Selection's "Do Anything" there was quite a big rumour over here in the UK that it was actually P. There's the woman who sounds like Ingrid Chavez - who was Niki Harris, no? Or was that supposed to be the dude? I remember watching them on Top of the Pops miming and it just reminded me of Milli Vanilli. The voice not matching the 'singer'. Difficult to tell tho, as it's obviously been speeded up in the style of Camille.

Did anyone ever see them tour and perform live? Did they even do an album? i remember buying the 12" and slowing the record down to see if i could recognise P. i was convinced then. Not so sure anymore...knowing his beliefs, would seem like a bizarre pseudonym choice. Possibly 'Dinosaur's Were God's Joke' would have been a more apt band name? lol

I always loved this track back in the day, very Princey me thinks...

Yeah the Ready for the World thing was a trip. I remember reading one of their old interviews and the interviewer asked them about the Prince comparisons at the time. They said something about not trying to copy Prince, but took the 'comparison' as a compliment. They had some good slow songs, but most of their fast songs were soooo Jamie Starr...check 'Ceramic Girl' and 'Digital Display'..if you can't hear Prince in those:-o
