What should Prince do to make up for charity event?

What would you recommend Prince do to make up for the recent cancellation of the Super Bowl charity event for the scholarship and ticket holders? The NFL just announced the 400 ticket holders whom had a ticket fiasco during superbowl would receive 3 times their ticket value in return and free tickets to next years Superbowl. I am now appointing the Orgr's to be Prince's management for the day to come up with a plan. Now go on and think outside of that purple tounge box!

Imo, he doesn't Need to do anything. None of what happened was his fault.

But it would be nice to do something for the award recipients. Like give them VIP access and treatment for one of his shows. As a show opener,They could the instrumental to raspberry beret and Prince could do vocals.

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

It wasn't his fault, so there's nothing for him to "make up."

I've been to his concerts...he makes his "fans" wait hours on end before the show starts! Very disrespectful to say the least! You guys are on drugs if you think this isn't about money. He's greedy, he hasn't made a descent album in years, and he's a hypocrite! He's been divorced twice....

Dude, crawl bak under your rock. We've got this under control.

I agree that he's not obligated to do anything. But he may actually want to do something, either because he feels bad or because he wants to reduce the public relations damage, even if it's unfair. I don't think Prince is entirely cold-hearted about these things: otherwise, why would he release a song like "Hello," which I take as a sincere response to all the criticism he got after not joining the WATW singalong.

I think the best thing he could do for the scholarship recipients would be to invite them to perform with him at some future event, either as opening acts or as guest musicians for a particular song. As aspiring musicians, I expect they would appreciate an opportunity to perform with him more than a VIP pass or tickets to a show. He could give some money to the foundation but he is already doing that for other deserving organizations in New York.

I doubt he feels too bad about those of us who wanted to see him in Dallas, since lots of people around the world want to see him live and there are many places he's never been to at all. But I'd love to see him come back here and play a regular concert. If he can sell out several shows in New York, he could sell out one show in Dallas. He's done it before.

I would also like to see him finally get those remasters going, but wouldn't everybody?

Every Prince show I went to started on time. You do realize that the time printed on tickets is usually the time the doors open and that the headliner goes on one to three hours afterward, right?

Anyway, what Prince really needs to do is start vetting the people he works with so stuff doesn’t keep getting screwed up!

I really don't give a flying fuck if it was his fault or not!

Those children who had their hearts broken and dreams dashed because they did not get their once in a lifetime opportunity to perform on stage in front of him...deserve to have that...made up to them!

That is something they will remember for the rest of their lives.

The only person who can fix how they remember that is Prince and it's the very least...HE should do!

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Life is full of disappointments. A better lesson for those kids to learn would be to put the blame where it belongs.

Now that's cold-hearted. I think they've already learned a lot about how the music business really works and their place in the world. Perhaps Prince could teach some more kids a lesson by failing to show up in New York for his preannounced charity donation?

Ain't that some shit? disbelief

"A better lesson for those kids to learn would be to put the blame where it belongs."

A better lesson would be to teach those kids that even though something may not be their fault, the responsible thing to do is...at least try to make it right. Instead of being cowardly, always trying to duck blame.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the W2A "tour" was partly designed to promote the work of newer and less familiar artists. I don't think Prince wanted to send those scholarship recipients a message that "life is tough and you need to put the blame where it belongs." No one has suggested that his decision not to perform had anything to do with them.

If Prince doesn't want to do anything to make the scholarship recipients feel better, that's his choice. Maybe Erykah will do something. But if I were Prince, I would want to reach out to the students and show them that I'm a bigger person than the morons who planned that conference.

Well, had I wasted a trip to Dallas and $1500+ on that bullshit...my WRATH would be MERCILESS and downright VICIOUS!

Since I didn't but some deserving children did...SOMEBODY has to think of them! Because Prince sure as hell didn't when he was reportedly on Friday, sitting his ass in his limo outside the hotel going...

Should we start a new thread under the heading "Prince should do nothing to make up for the charity event because it's not his fault?" That way, those who are of that opinion could post their comments there. The OP in this thread asked for suggestions about what Prince could do to make it up.

Actually, now that I think of it, there's already a thread for those who want to absolve Prince from any blame:
