so many devoted orgers on here..so much great stuff to say..yet so many bash him as well..do u love to hate PRINCE? I have friends that act like that hate him cuz i dig him so much...but so many orgers are like my friends..thay talk so much smack..yet they love him..can u relate?

I never forgave Prince for the 3 minutes and 44 seconds he robbed of my life by listening to Incense & Candles in good faith.

Prince is weird and seems like a prick. He is such a talented guy, but his intelligence is not always put in the right place. As multi talented person my self, (painter, sculptor, interior architect, photographer, chef, archaeologist, replica producer, ext..) I find his beliefs ridiculous. But He is a master at music and poetry, and thats enough for me to love him

I like him, but I don't know the guy enough to love him.

I love his music and he is his music, so I love that aspect of him but like any other human being.. he is not excluded, he gets on my nerves sometimes lol..

From the stories I have heard from former bandmates, people who used to work for him and fans that have met him, to me, he seems like a very arrogent, standoffish person with a diva complex thinking that the world revolves around only himself. That is not the type of person I personally wouldn't want to hang around with and the way he does his fans and the people around him is not nice either. Is this odd or not? Back during the Musicology Tour during the Dallas Stop, Erukay Badu (sp?) put on a Aftershow with Prince, when Prince finished some of us followed him outside and it was weird to see him get in a limo while he made the rest of the band get in a regular ole van.

I can relate but, since being an enthusiast of Prince there has 'never' been a moment where I hated him. I don't know cat to 'hate' him. His a musician providing a product and it's up to me if I like it or not. That's bottom-line ... I don't take anything he does personally.

Why is it alright for Prince obsessives to spout their crap all over the forums, but people who don't get with the stupid shit somehow gotta have their posts psychoanalyzed? Get off it. Believe it or not, people have opinions and its chill. Nobody ever says shit until it's some retarded thread about "do u Luv 2 h8 prince" and all of a sudden people who don't link their jaw up to Prince's rectum are overly negative.

I'll be dat. And I assure you, this argument has been had on the Org for over a decade. You see it as negative and agressive, I see it as overwhelmed with incredulity at the ridiculousness of some of these creepy ass threads.

Hate is a strong word...more like annoyed with the ish he allows his fans to go through personally. It's frustrating that Prince has terrible business practices, hiring the cheapest employees and/or his 'friends' to take care of his business for him rather than taking the time and putting in the effort to oversee what's going on in the background.

Instead, he carries on making music and merchandise without a proper outlet to get it to the fans who have taken care of him (financially and with FREE promotion) all these years. If he does manage to get his music and merchandise to the fans, it's either been shoddy work, takes forever to ship, lost in cyberspace due to licensing regulations, or doesn't deliver what was originally intended.

I don't think it's his intention to dupe the fans, but of course all these issues makes him look like the culprit behind the insanity. In one of Kevin Smith's interviews back in 2000, he told a story about Prince wanting a camel delivered to Paisley Park 3:00 in the morning. It was an exaggeration, but somewhat based on the truth of Prince's narcissistic tendencies.

As far as the stories I've heard from former employees and band mates, Prince expects the impossible. He rarely likes to make comprimises, so when things take a turn for the worse, he usually wipes his hands clean of the matter and goes on to the next project. That in turn sucks for the fans because it leaves us to deal with the consequences of his half assed endeavors.

The consequences for fans can be anything from wasted finances, dealing with empty promises, to wasted time. To Prince, time may be a trick, but to us non celebs, most have prior obligations and financial responsibilities to take care of. Who expects you to drop everything and attend a one off concert announced only 3 days in advance? Who expects fans to go on a scavanger hunt for clues as to the wherebouts of the hotel he's going to perform on the same day of the event? Who can at the drop of a dime cancel a paid performance and show up at a club and play for free? Who else but Prince? I cannot speak for anyone else, but to me, someone who doesn't value the time and effort you put into supporting them will leave you somewhat bitter.

However when he does deliver what he promises (pertaining to music and live performances), he rarely dissapoints! You don't just go to a Prince show, you experience a Prince show! He is one of the best musicians and entertainers around, and out of the 30 + albums he has created, I have enjoyed hundreds of songs that have enriched my life which IMO are priceless.

Theirin lies the conflict, or the love 'hate' relationship that many Prince fans have with Prince.
