Is this odd or not? Back during the Musicology Tour during the Dallas Stop, Erukay Badu (sp?) put on a Aftershow with Prince, when Prince finished some of us followed him outside and it was weird to see him get in a limo while he made the rest of the band get in a regular ole van.

Just wanted to mention that the last aftershow he did in NYC (12/29 @ Butter) Shelby J was the one who arrived in the limo and Prince was in a regular van! that I found odd...I guess he wanted to throw some of us fans off.

People take it personally, but that's just human nature. Prince lives his life for himself, not for his fans. Therefore, it's useless to feel wronged when he does something against your wishes. Like it or not, it's not about you.

Yes indeed he is not a "usual" celebrity who doesn't fear the crowd or some freak and crazy fan starring at him, as I once did, then, even the cold wind from his side didn't make me "hate" him.

Nope, I blamed myself for being obsessed by someone who doesn't know me as I suppose he did, because I was and still am a fan of his.

To "hate" him why, he is as he is, ..

We maybe feel "angry" because we expect some recognition from him, but the audience is a whole entity but has not an identity of it's own, the crowd can only be recognised as when participating to a concert or a gig about Prince.

Therefore, whenever someone taken as one from this crowd is in front of Prince, how could Prince say "hey buddy, I have seen you many times during my concert, you were the one who..sang in the false note..right?

If there was any ounce of hate in my heart for Prince, then you bet your ass I wouldn't waste any amount of time on a website like this or spend even a quarter of the money I've spent on Prince. There's no joy in that and it makes no sense to me, but that just me. Plus, the majority of us in here don't know him so how and why would you take this and him so seriously? God only knows what some of you are like with the people you do know.

The consequences for fans can be anything from wasted finances, dealing with empty promises, to wasted time. To Prince, time may be a trick, but to us non celebs, most have prior obligations and financial responsibilities to take care of. Who expects you to drop everything and attend a one off concert announced only 3 days in advance? Who expects fans to go on a scavanger hunt for clues as to the wherebouts of the hotel he's going to perform on the same day of the event? Who can at the drop of a dime cancel a paid performance and show up at a club and play for free? Who else but Prince? I cannot speak for anyone else, but to me, someone who doesn't value the time and effort you put into supporting them will leave you somewhat bitter.

However when he does deliver what he promises (pertaining to music and live performances), he rarely dissapoints! You don't just go to a Prince show, you experience a Prince show! He is one of the best musicians and entertainers around, and out of the 30 + albums he has created, I have enjoyed hundreds of songs that have enriched my life which IMO are priceless.

Theirin lies the conflict, or the love 'hate' relationship that many Prince fans have with Prince.

In the end... We are all fans.. some us care.. some us dont.. alot of people love to hate Prince. It's a love/hate relationship between his fans, but we pay to see him, hear his music.. hopefully most of us actually purchase the cds I'm pretty sure Prince is not the only musician we listen to. It's all good in the end.. He's cocky, everyone loves him.. the song said it. Just like all humans, we get annoyed with with each other.. He gets annoyed with us, we get annoyed with him.. so the best advice is to see as only a musician who has a life like we all do and we are fans of many musicians, he just one of a kind. Now a days.. we dont have many talented people left like the last generation, so we get mad because sometimes fans feel unappreciated. IT doesn't mean you give up your entire life to your fans, but you give respect where it is given. When the line is crossed and there is no respect.. thats when people get pissed.

I have never hated prince.I have detested those that dont give his music a chance and then listen to temporary fades like dance music.Prince and his music will outlive all these fools who dont have two brain cells to rub together.I dont think hes weird just intense as a person and very single minded.Prince is the Marmite of the music world.you either love him or you hate him.But to the people who hate him ask yourselves why you truly hate him?.I admit he's one of my idols from my youth right up till today and todays youth could learn a thing or two from prince.

I have nothing but respect for Prince. Even when I was just a casual listener of his, I never thought anything bad about him aside from the fact that he's very reclusive and eccentric. It's all about the music for me (plus seeing him perform live is enough.) I don't care about his personal life...that's his business.

I certainly agree there is a surprising number of orgers who seem to be very negative about Prince. It's hard to determine if they are trolls/flamers, or if they are simply angry with Prince for not being/doing what they want him to be/do.
