01 - 3121 /DMSR (LIVE!) ..from indigo nights ... this song really isnt the JAM OF THE YEAR ... its the JAM OF THE MILLENIUM ... I got this on my bipod an never grew tired of listening to it an never am not excited by it .. the music the vibe .. the vocals ..the lyrics .. everything about this song .. kicks arse Royally .... it well an truelly is a masterpiece an a musical spectical.. an I Blove the raw no nonesence vibe of the track an the vocal ...im addicted to it ... something magic was caught on this jam that night an im happy it was recorded
02 - 3121 (studio version) .. this coulda just as easily have been at the top . this is a work of musical genuis ... such an edgy sound . very bold.. very nasty... very strange ... very fucking brilliant ... this is raw tallent at its very best ......perfect ... its in your face ... but i like that an it wakes something up in me that i like an makes me want to dance
03 - RESOLUTION a very beautiful, pretty little song .. that has that Anotherworld kinda magic of songs like STARFISH & COFFEE .. A PLACE IN HEAVEN.. STRAYES OF THE WORLD etc .... but has the funkiness of WHEN U WERE MINE , UPTOWN etc ...... beautiful song .. beautiful message .. when he singing 'c'mon everyboday all over the world ... i get goosebumps .. the man trying his best .. an at his best .. breathtaking close to a very special album which had moments of nostalgia..on more than just this track.. this is up there with PAISLEY PARK . RASPERRY BERET , GOLD etc
04 - NO MORE CANDY 4 U ... I love this song .. I love it when prince sings like this .. its so raw an unique .. an kicks arse . has attitude ... this song is cool cos it is CATCHY .. it is full of funky guitar riffs . it has great lyrics .. great vocals ... princey moments .. an is the bigger better brother of them old jams like JACK U OFF DELIRIOUS , etc .. which excited me also .. its a very satisfying track ... an has hit potential .. an belongs on a best of in my opinion
05 - SHE LOVES ME FOR ME ... on an album where none of the tracks are safe an most of them are bizarre an extremely uncomercially editted for radio ... None of the tracks apart from this one ... an the sheer simplicity/beauty of it makes it one of the highlights ... the bridge has a very strong melody . i wish it had 3 bridges lol ... instead of just 2 . but maybe i dont .. it works pretty well as it is ...........
06 - THE EVERLASTING NOW! ..........IMPRESSIVE .. jam of the year volume two .... this is just musical tallent at its best ... an music at its very best ... so much tallent an work in just one song its mindblowing .... an lyrically its brilliant an funky as hell .............love it!!!!
07 - GOLD .. this song is huge an anthemic .. its rock n roll.. stadium filling sound .. its big . its breathtakingly beautiful .its powerful .. its a hit ... I guess its also a personal favourite cos I was 14 an at sheffield in march 1995 watching prince live an he closed the show with an amazing version of this song which blow everyones mind an made em realise they had just witnessed something great .... it was the 1st time i had ever heard the song .. it was the 1st time most of the audience had ever heard the song ......... but good lord ..it stuck in my/our minds .... I knew that melody an that song got stuck in my head after witnessing it just once .............. once again prince had been down to the well an came back with GOLD! .. Purple Rain/ Last Decmber .. his version of ONE OF US ... Spring to mind as the only songs that rivel it as rock power ballad anthums ..welcome 2 the dawn. wherever u go, wherever u are ..lion of juda. have it also . but on a smaller scale
08 - LETITGO .. I think this is a very well produced peice of pop laid back magic . an a very revealing .. heart on the sleave kinda song .. which is great to hear from prince ... who alot of the time is often singing less personal or personal but with a touch of bravado ........ its all cool an thats one of the reason i love him ... but here he is stripped bare . an singing his heart out an revealing sensitivity .... its kinda like a confessionally kinda song .. an has that aspect to it .. about getting older .. learning an trying to change .. cos u realise that u aint happy an u aint the person you could/should be .......... the holly river has similar qualitys
09 - the ONE U WANNA C ...........this is feel good music at its best .. it has the vibe of old classics like I COULD NEVER TAKE THE PLACE OF YOUR MAN .. WHEN U WERE MINE .. RASPERRY BERRET ... BABY IM A STAR ................ But it is musicially richer an older an wiser .. its a brilliant song .... it always makes me feel good when i hear it ... an thats one of the good things that music is about ........ passion .. it is pop .. but pop at its best .. kinda like leetwood mac with way better guitar ...its a very fresh sounding song ... an its one i never skip when it comes on my ipod
