"The Love Sign EP" - sourced from tape? OK, this is a boot which came out a good few years ago with the unreleased Shock G (at that time, unreleased) and Teddy Riley remixes. It's meant to be sourced from one of the Bellmark cassette promos but that sounds like bull - the sound quality's pretty bad. Does anyone know if this is true and if any better quality versions (apart from those on Crystal Ball and one of the NPG Radio Shows) have surfaced? I would cut off one of my nuts for perfect quality versions of these...well maybe not, but you get the jist...

The versions on the Work It 2.0 (updated) boot sound like they might be tape sourced, but as i'm no audio expert, i could not say for sure. The "Shocks Silky Smooth" mix sounds like it might be sourced from vinyl. Quality of those is certainly not perfect, but it's not terrible.
There are 6 versions on there.

Yes. | |

Yes, and the only mix I like out of the bunch (Funky Chariot) was also played on the AHDIO shows, I believe.

I thought I read recently that they're actually supposed to be sourced from DAT, but no way do those sound like anything other than multi-generational analog tape. I wish they were better quality as well, because I love the song.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

The only version I really like is the one on 1-800. The rest are boring crap for me.
