Most under-appreciated Good song from Controversy
Fav part until the ending is "I strangle Valentino! (repeat) U been mine ever since! (repeat)" this the part he turns around and points to crowd "If anybody ask you (repeat) U belong to PRINCE, oo, Come on baby, Get up!"

Its ok. One of the least artistic and most pop songs on the Controversy set. Definitely a forerunner to tracks like Sleep Around, Acknowledge Me, and Dance 4 Me. I prefer all these more. | |

Private Joy is a precursor to all of Prince's most famous songs. Prior to this, Prince had not put a scorching solo on a track, much less an onstensibly frothy, lighthearted track. This is the proto-type to songs like Let's Go Crazy, When Doves Cry, ICNTTPOYM, etc. | |
